Australia: A Nation At War?

Day 738, 02:43 Published in Australia Australia by hongimaster

"No Active Battles"

I looked at the screen, yawning and peering at the blank War page which was the represent eAustralia's current political climate; neutral and pacifist. Tainted by the bloodshed of wars previous, and shamed by the loss of many territories, eAustralia had entered an era of Combat Dormancy with even the occasional Wargame hard to come by. Juggernauts, heroes and veterans of the wars of old slowly faded away, leaving a new generation. I am part of that generation.

I can remember vividly thinking "Wow, War does not happen very often in this game!" as I had not been exposed to the eAustralian-eIndonesian War of Past. In fact, I was keen and eager to serve my country in combat, and retake eQueensland. I also remember the Depressions which seemed to rock the economy, leaving Weapons Companies fighting for survival, and food hard to come by. I thought eAustralia was always going to be untouched by the Battles of other nations...

How wrong I was.

As of the time this article was written, eAustralia is a participant in no less than 10 Conflicts, with at least 4 Active Battles raging. Time and time again, eAustralian Soldiers have proven their worth, turning the tide of battle and seizing ground. The professionalism of our forces are becoming more and more respected as Alliances are formed, training is perfected and soldiers are tempered.

I have created this Publication, The Bayonet, to document, investigate, publicize and advertise Military and Commonwealth issues, as well as commend and pay tribute to those courageous members of the Defence Forces including the elite Drop Bears and ACUK, and the dedicated AAR. I will also use it as a tool to promote new and revolutionary ideas, as well as discussion topics for these issues.

I thank the brave men and women of the Australian Defence Forces for shielding this great nation from the depths of oblivion.
