August 2013 Senate Election Analysis (Complete)

Day 2,105, 20:55 Published in Australia New Zealand by Marcos Arolia

This current article will discuss this month's Senate election. The destruction of the Socialist Revolution from rabid and starving dingos acts as the background for this election. The Socialist Diaspora into most of the other parties and outside of eAustralia has brought some changes this month.

These results are current as of 06:00 on Day 2106

Australian National Party - 13 votes - 7.43%

Decline of the ANP

There is now no question that the ANP has been plummeting ever since their best vote performance and best percentage performance within the first two months of this political module, especially within the past two elections. The current Party President Yobbo McSweeny has overseen the past five months of this decline. Now after their worst voting performance the previous month, they are in danger of having the worst election since the Australian Communist Party achieved 17 votes in May of this year.

As the party on the threshold of falling from the Top 5, it is necessary to discuss the Green and Gold Revolution as well. Currently, their active voting membership surpasses the ANP's by 4, but they are four members below the ANP. This is a rare situation that does not occur often if at all. However despite being more active, the GGR has not been able to surpass the ANP

Along with McSweeny, Nathan Lloyd returns to the Senate.

Reform Party - 19 votes - 10.86%

First Election

The Reform Party under Icetek has managed to grow and take the now defunct Socialist Revolution's position in the Top 5. Fielding four candidates, all are currently within bound to be elected. Three of these candidates (Marin Anhaul, Rev Shimon, and Glassjaw Cloud) will be Senators for the first time. theolor is one of the only Senators from the SR that will return under a new banner.

KnightHawks Military Council - 42 votes - 24.00%

In Memory

In one of the surprises of this election, the KHMC has fallen to third. Mick Gatto, the current PP of the KHMC, has made considerable effort the previous 10 days to revive and reform the political vehicle for the KnightHawks movement. Despite the improvement of four votes and increase of percentages and possible Senate seats, there may be a sense of disappointment in the fall to third.

Australian Parliamentary Party - 43 votes - 24.57%

Surprise of the Election

Perhaps the largest surprise this election is the APP's sudden and surprise rise to the 2nd rank. In what is proving to be the best performance of this module for the party, all nine candidates may be elected to the Senate. This is an achievement for a party that only two months ago had fallen to the border of the Top 5.

On the Political Throne

As they have been for the past few months, the ARP will continue to have the most Senators in the Senate with thirteen current Senator-elects. But their performance has slightly suffered as the ARP has been mostly inactive this month. They stand to lose a Senate seat if results hold but remain strong.
