A Message To My Fellow EA Members

Hey guys, I've got a number of things planned for this month, but I wanted to start off by saying thanks to the members who voted for me in yesterdays elections, and to all members who took the time to take part in the election process.

First things first, I would normally be briefing you guys via pm, but some of you aren't on my friends list so until you can get around to adding me (at least until my term is over - then feel free to dump me again ;_; ) I'll be writing articles to fill you in on the latest news and projects.

Facelift

As you may have noticed from the banner, I've been working on some new EA graphics. I managed to put together a heraldic raven with an Irish harp and it looks pretty gnarly and kick ass. So sometime over the next few days I'm thinking of putting it to a vote to see if this should be our new logo. I did a few mock ups of this new EA raven onto party logos and you can see them here below.

Right now I think I like the bottom one. It's a lot cleaner and more professional looking. I'm curious if anyone can translate the three irish words that are there - hope I got those right...

If anyone else has ideas for a new logo or if you have an opinion on these leave a comment, log in on our forum, or shoot me a pm. I'm 100% open to changes and suggestions.

Other Items

Supporting a Cp Candidate - as I said in my election article, I want to discuss whether you guys want to vote for who we "support" or whether I should abstain. It's really just a symbolic gesture that has no bearing on elections, but I think I have a responsibility to best represent our members so I'm going to put this on the table.

Leadership In EA - the admin have added a number of new leadership roles for parties, so I'll be looking at who wants to take on those roles. I don't think they come when anything other than a title, but I could use some help this month so we might as well put this new feature to use.

Congress Elections - there coming! We need to start planning now if we want to a) get into the elections and b) do right by our members during the elections.

I'll be working closely with anyone who wants to help me accomplish these two goals, and I'll be looking for the best way to choose our election line-up aswell.

Bare With Me

That's about it for now. The political scene has a few new curves so it will take me a few days to get us at 100%. In the meantime I highly recommend checking on our forum for news, discussions, and updates. There are a few open topics there now that are worth having a look at.

In the meantime I have 4 midterms this week so I might need an hour or two to study. Luckily all my courses this year are hilariously easy so it's not an amber alert just yet.

Tabhair-Comhoibriú-Éirigh.

Tabhair is the Irish verb to give, ie tabhair dom cupan tae - give me a cup of tea.

Comhoibriú means co-operation, literally working together. I assume that's what you wanted there.

Eirigh is the verb to get up, usually used when talking about getting out of bed and such.

Actually just change the last one to èirigh, that means rebellion and uprising, which is more likely what you intended. The only difference is the way the fada faces.

This stuff is why nobody likes learning Irish 😕

@James lol it's a heraldically styled bird, but I don't think any of our members have been related to crows... other than in the evolutionary biology sense...

@Tibulus It's a tough language... they offer electives in it at my university so I might try and learn it.

I was going for Give/Contribute | Cooperate | Rise

I meant rise more in the sense of improve or succeed, but I couldn't find any translation for those.

Oh OK, ya Wandering Rian from the before wipe EA, and he also wrote a series of stories that had a raven in them.

That's the inspiration for the raven symbol on the original EA, EA v2, and on this new design.
