ATLANTIS VS PEACE. Why Choose?
Igor Thunderbrow
A dhaoine uaisle,
Since the end of WW1 and the inception of the IF government in eIreland we have heard a lot of debate about joining the huge military alliances of ATLANTIS and PEACE.
So I have decided to tell people what I think.
First of all, most of you know that I fought in defense of Hungary in WW1. Therefore you will presume that my loyalties are with PEACE. You would however be wrong with this presumption.
I am no fan of PEACE but no fan of ATLANTIS either. Both are huge alliances made up of many countries much more powerful than ourselves. If we join either I believe that we will be pushed around into getting involved in wars that we don't want and be forced to remain inactive in other cases where we feel that we should intervene.
Why should we have to choose? We are bordered by only 3 countries. America, Britain and Canada. We have very good relationships with these countries. The IRA were even given assurances by the British that they would defend us even against ATLANTIS!! If we have alliances and good relations with all our neighbours we will be safe and possibly even safer than if we joined ATLANTIS.
What if PEACE take over Britain (unlikely and will not happen for a long time into v1) but hypothetically speaking if that did happen and we were ATLANTIS members PEACE would not hesitate to annex us. If we were neutral (to explain to some of you: Not partaking of sides in the alliance conflict) they would be much less likely to invade. Especially considering the strong relations between Hungary and eIreland after the eIRB and others fought for Hungarian freedom in WW1.
We do not need to take sides. Lets stay above this alliance squabbling and be our own nation.

Why do you repost this article? ;o
It got knocked off by the massive number of messages from the Irishman. Prob an accident, but Igor wants to speak his mind where people can see it.
I agree why choose a side?
Deja vu?
ATLANTIS !
Three is not a massive number of messages. Are people really so lazy that they only look at the first media page? There are any number of ways of getting back to an article once it has left the main page.
let\'s think a bit..
ROMANIA SAVED GREECE by beeing conquered by turkey..
ROMANIA defended Bulgaria in Turkey-Bulgaria war...
Greece broke the MPP with Romania and defended Hungary
Bulgaria insulted Romania in the forum and maybe they defended Hungary.
This situation can be between UK and Ireland...at the end of Turkey-Greece war, we were greek\'s best friends
Igor, then that is their problem. Obviously people did see this, because they realized it was a repost. I don\'t think Mulligan\'s articles were pointless to him, any more than poetry was pointless to me. He is just new.
I agree this arguement is extremely important and perhaps we should be hashing it out on the forum.
Theres other pages?
Igor: Mulligan\'s new, he\'s trying to get used to the game, I guess. Remeber; We\'ve all been a newbie. 🙂
Are you taking the piss, Mick, or is that a serious question?
@mac:My past comment on pointlessness was perhaps a bit harsh. And I think that I will hash it out on the forums and Merolk you are right also the previous article was hijacked by IR spam so I kinda wanted to get a discussion going before that started again.
See ya on the forum, boss!
No I\'m wondering if there are other pages of articles that I have never discovered
The first page is the most recent, we usually only go through 2 a day in eIReland so you probably haven\'t missed much.
@ Michael Collins: I don\'t know. I find the articles by subscribing to comments and then following the link directly from my email. The media section of the eIreland page will list the last ten instead of only the last five that you get from the \"latest news\". Beyond that, I have all the urls for the periodicals in my favourites.
@Igor, you are deleting articles.
@Victor: Yes I am thankyou for pointing that out. I presume that you haven\'t read the above posts...
I have posted this idea on the eIreland forums and I invite you all to discuss it there.
So far IUP has a neutral stance on the alliances
We should enter ATLANTIS just in case something wrong happens we would have strongest help in this game. Some of your is saying that US, UK and Canada is our friends but everything can change, today we are friends and tomorrow enemies, no one knows the future so better be safe than sorry. 🙂
Probably will be a battle for resources in V1,let\'s not make Ireland a farm.Stay with the strongest.ATLANTIS.
i agree with Igor, we should just maintaining good relationship with both, there\'s no point on opposing one of them with \"they are strong\" or \"they are weak\" reason.....
unless, on of them attacked us first, that\'s when we must choose side.....
yes, friends today maybe enemies tomorrow, that\'s why we sould have a lot of friends, so when one of them turning into enemies, we still have friends.....
Neutrality or ATLANTIS.
Considering PEACE is an exercise in irrationality.
This idea seems to have been met with a lot of support on the forums.
Why?
