As president of The Democratic Party, Demokratene, I have some thoughts.
Anders.
When the former president just left I become president of this party, Demokratene.
This is just my thoughts not a party program because I am not elected president just happened to be on top of the members list.
In the eRepublick world we are now at a crossroad on the brink of new modules in every area. It seems that we will be depending on a strong army and a strong economy collectively, not one by one.
Obviously we need to coordinate in forehand, to be ready for all the new demands. For instance; the strength of our army depends on how strong we will be together. How do we convert our strength to the four fields we will have.
1. Should a soldier covert some on all four groups of weapons or on two or all his/her strength just on one kind. Well If I convert all my strength on tanks, we need some to shoot down the helicopters, and so on. It might be that the strength of an army is depending on a national coordination before we convert our strength.
2. It seems to be the same for choosing what production to go for. We need enough of all elements to cover the demand. Coordination.
3 We need more people in our country, we need to make it more inviting for people to live and work here. For instance take down the income tax, write English and so on.
4. Show political openness by having the discussion in the “Congress” and all the decisions also taken there instead of on some chat channel. Discuss openly every not classified topic in the press, get people to state their ideas and opinions.
Just a few democratic thoughts

You are very much in line with the thoughts of many of us, Anders.
Yes, it seems obvious that both attack and defense will depend heavily on cunning coordination in V2. One of the currently unkown factors is terrain, which will play an important part, but we have yet to see what terrain we end up with. But this will have quite an impact on how to coordinate both attack and defense.
Just for the record, except for certain security issues, all discussions in congress are readable in the forums (http://erepublik.no) - nothing is being decided on chat channels.
Recruiting Norwegians and keep them active is very important, and something more or less everyone agrees on. While keeping people active and happy could be said to be an official task within eRepublik, recruiting new people to join is something everyone should do their best with.
I agree almost wholeheartedly with you. For the new modules, it's going to be mostly wait and see. Hopefully, as you say, people can get together and try and plan a little to make the country as strong as it can be.
Unfortunately, reducing the income tax, or any other tax, is next to impossible. I've tried to do this for just one day, with a tax holiday for food and weapons, and it was flippantly shot down despite the apparent benefits. I perceive that there is too much interest in protecting friends than there is of benefiting the country.
I've also been against the "forum" in the past, desiring that all communication happen in the game. Unfortunately, I've recently decided to participate in the forum, to follow the 'rules' of congress. However, I won't follow all of their arbitrary rules. They demand that every proposal in the game be proposed on the forum for 24-48 hours, where it is discussed. If it gets support then a forum poll is conducted for the same period, and then the proposal can make it to the game. I will gladly put the proposal on the forum for discussion, but I will not be relegated by the forum polling; that would allow the congress to hide behind forum, and I would never have a proposal make it to the game.
Hopefully we can work together.
For the Future,
Kapitalist Partiet Member,
Congressman, RussK
I second what Freke has said about the forum vs. chat. The only time we use chat for congres discussions is when we need to get a hold of someone immediately, or to make sure that people are reading the forum topics. It has been several months since a decision was made in chat that wasn't recorded in the forums, and even then it was a rare, unintentional occurrence.
RussK, congress doesn't hide behind a forum. Our nicks make it quite clear who is who. ingame voting doesn't tell you who voted what. If your proposal doesn't get approved in the forum, what makes you think it will get passed in an in-game vote? this is not an arbitrary rule, it allows us to have time to discuss things and think about the outcomes before voting.
If someone proposes something in the forum and no one supports it, then your right, it doesn't have a chance of getting passed. However, if the vote never makes it to the game, most of the people won't even know such a proposal ever existed--since most don't check the forum--allowing congress to "hide behind the forum." For example, if I tell the people I'm going to do something, and congress doesn't support it, I'm not going to just stop on the forum. It's going to get an up or down vote in the game, for everyone to see.
