Around the World in 60 Seconds : Day 1,080

Day 1,080, 13:26 Published in Canada Albania by Roger Griswald

After being away from my newspaper for the past week (sorry) it is good to be back writing. I am currently planning to publish my newspaper every 72 hours or so over the next month, however I have been asked and have accepted the post of eCanada Minister of Information under the Fox Blutch Presidency should he find success at the polls tomorrow. As such I will be prioritizing that work over my daily newspaper ~ but don’t worry I will strive to keep you informed as much as I can. As always; thanks for reading.

Highlights:
- eWorld Country President Election as a crossroad [in depth feature]
eSerbia knock out of Asia by the eUSA: only holding onto its native regions
Phoenix member-nations booming?

Quote of the day:
“I look forward to another boring month with JamesW at the helm!”
- TemujinBC (on jamesw running for eUK CP again)

Feature: Country President Elections

Tomorrow, citizens will once again have the opportunity to select an individual to represent their eNation in the coming month as their Country President. While for most eNations it will be a routine exercise in rallying votes domestically, in some eNations the battle will be for who can recruit the most votes from foreign allies in bids to politically take-over (PTO) another eNation. PTO attempts coupled with heated and/or fascinating domestic elections should make this months elections quite interesting.

Below is a round-up of noteworthy* CP elections around the eWorl😛

eAustralia : Following a successful bid to PTO the eIndonesian led Angel/Demon Group’s political party (Poison and Perish, now dubbed Procreate and Populate Party) eAustralia is now facing the first CP election in months where there is not a PTOer running for office. This “luxury” has allowed eAustralia to once again hold genuine elections and some of the eNations most popular citizens are stepping up to the plate to lead the eNation out of the PTO and help to start the rebuilding effort.

eBolivia : current CP, talomedina, of the Bolivia Unida Party is re-running for office and hopes to keep the eNation out of their previous situation: under an eArgentinian PTO.

eBosnia and Herzegovina : Dusan_Bg of the Demokratska Stranka Srpske [Party] (eSerbian led PTO) hopes to continue their success in keeping the eNation PTOed, whilst toroman of the Narodna Partija eBiH hopes to leverage enough votes with the support of the Liberalna Stranka eBiH to repeat past successes and break the PTO.

eCanada : While the eNation’s CP elections contain at least one lulz candidate, infamous eCan thief 1ronman (running for a minor party), the front-running candidates are attempting to build on ground laid by current CP Alias Vision, towards a once again politically stable eNation with a government the people can have confidence in.

As the first candidate out of the gate, and with endorsements from three of the four largest political parties in eCanada, Fox Blutch is favoured to win the election on a platform of expanding government to provide greater services and improved communication to citizens. Fox has also convinced an experienced team of eCanadians to help revive governmental departments and re-establish eCanada as a politically strong eNation.

Blutch’s greatest challenge will come from former CP candidate Kazuo Leblanc of the Canadian Progressive Front who is running on a platform of overhauling the way the eCanadian government operates and he has assembled an impressive, though far smaller cabinet (compared to Blutch), to aid him with his goals.

For more information on where the candidates stand, check out this excellent Q & A article by Kronos Q.

[Editor’s note: I am proud to be included in the Fox Blutch cabinet and, should he be elected, will revive the eCanada Ministry of Information as your Minister. I have every confidence in Blutch’s ability to advance eCanada both domestically and abroad. For more information on Blutch’s platform click here.

eCyprus: In what will be their first CP election, the eNation, like many new eNations, is facing serious influence from external power, however in the case of eCyprus their RL political situation is amplifying this.

Cyprus is a nation comprised by large Greek and Turkish populations and that is certainly evident in their eRep CP elections with the two front running candidates being Steve_God of the Cyprus Democratic Party (majority Greek) and Steoks of the Cyprus Peace Party (majority Turk). If the Congress election showed anything, it would indicate that Steve_God should win in a landslide as his political party picked up 65% of the available seats on the 25th.

eMontenegro: As this is the eNations first CP election, it is unclear what will happen, however the fight will certainly come down to what many are calling a PTO-off with eSerbian friendly Armon of the Jedinstvena eCrna Gora [Party] facing off against infamous former eUSA citizen Pizza The Hut of the Montenegro National Union.

However with Armon’s party being twice the size of Pizza the Hut’s party and winning 85% of the Congress seats in the last election, Pizza the Hut should not pose much of an obstacle allowing the eNation to adds its forces to its eSerbian allies in the region in the coming weeks.

ePortugal: after being removed form the map by eSpain/EDEN before their last Congress elections, ePortugal currently has open citizenship. This means that any citizen can apply and be granted citizenship to vote in their CP elections tomorrow.

While it is unclear on whether this will materialise into actual votes, at least one EDEN giant, eSpain has called for citizens willing to take part in PTOs to sign up to participate.

eRussia: Finding themselves in the same situation as ally ePortugal, eRussia’s citizenship is currently open, thus making them an easy target for a PTO. With the eNation’s history of PTOing foreign nations eRussia’s past actions have afforded them a number of enemies and makes them EDEN’s prime target.

As it currently stands the strongest PTO threat they are facing is from alpho of the Soviet S.E.E.S. [Party] and their objective to “restore the czar”, of course with alpho being that czar.

eRepublic of Macedonia (FYROM) : Following one of the largest baby booms in eRep history, this eNation has grown to become the 8th largest eNation in the eWorld with over 8,400 citizens. While this may have led to a plurality of political parties due to a splitting of political beliefs the vast majority of citizens that are members of a political party have chosen the Obedineta eMakedonija [Party], which in serbian means “United Macedonia”.

The party is not only the largest in the eNation, but with just under 1,300 members it is the largest political party in the eWorld. The election is expected to result in citizen United Macedonia (actual name) dominating the polls and will likely result in serious problems for their neighbour eGreece once the eNation has the ability to declare war. Sources close to the leadership in the eNation have indicated that talks have been underway between them and eTurkey for a potential joint war against eGreece.

eSouth Africa : Mark Morcom of the ATO New Africa Party will try to end the eHungarian led PTO of the eNation who this month has put forward openly eHungarian citizen Alphatrion of the Progressive Party of South Africa.

eSerbia

Yesterday, eSerbia took a major blow from EDEN/Brolliance heavyweight eUSA when they lost control their colony of Sabah in Malaysia. The result of the loss has completely remove eSerbia from Asia and leaves the Phoenix giant with only their native regions in the Balkans.

While the eUSA is celebrating the victory, their newest neighbour eIndonesia is preparing for the worst. eIndonesia is one of a handful of eNations that have never seen any of their native regions occupied by a foreign power. The eUSA CP has made it clear that once they had dealt with eSerbia (which they have) they would “de-flower” eIndonesia and help liberate Brolliance ally eAustralia from eIndonesian oppression.

Pheonix member-nations experiencing baby-booms

Following the success of EDEN versus Phoenix in battles around the globe, Phoenix member-nations have begun to get creative and grow their populations. While EDEN giant ePoland still tops the list of most populated eNations, the shifting of the eNations below them has been most interesting over the last 14 days.

eTurkey, eBrazil and eRepublic of Macedonia (FYROM) have all seen their populations nearly double. The boom for all of these eNations has come as a direct result of them being under attack militarily (eTurkey and EBrazil) and politically (eRep. of Macedonia (FYROM)):

eTurkey when faced with being remove from the map by eGreece were able to capitalise on RL tension between the two nations and increased their population by nearly 9,000 citizens and are now the third largest in the eWorld.

eBrazil facing a massive invasion by eSpain were able to boom their population by about 8,000 citizens landing them at about 17,000 citizens and earning them the number two spot on the largest population list.

eRepublic of Macedonia (FYROM) began to recruit citizens before they were even on the map following major controversy with Greek players over their name. The controversy seems to have worked in their favour with their population booming to 8,400 citizens with angry citizens joining the game. Their population makes them the eighth largest eNation in the eWorld and about 2,000 citizens larger than 11th placed eGreece.
