Roger Griswald for Congress in PEI

To my eCanadian readers: I, Roger Griswald am re-running for Congress in our beautiful capital of Prince Edward Island with the EPIC Party. As a continuation of my previously elected platform, I will work to continue to improve governmental transparency and communication. Over the last month I have worked with other congress members to help advance the recovery effort following the theft of government assets and orgs last month. While this work is ongoing the government is in much better shape today due to the work of Congress and the Executive branch, it slowed down the progressive agenda of many Congress-members.

As a person who produces a daily newspaper, I am well versed in the activities of governments around the world. As is the case with many of the EPIC Party candidates, I feel that the eCanadian government should continue to improve its accountability to its citizens, to this end I will advocate a complete overhaul of the Ministry of Communication with the goal of providing highlights from all governmental offices on a weekly basis.

When I first started this newspaper, I did so with the goal of helping new players to capture a glimpse of what was happening around the world, as it can all seem pretty confusing at times. Ensuring new players properly acclimatize to eCanada and the eWorld is an essential service for our government to play, as such I will push for the government to increase the services it offers to citizens, namely: improving and re-launching the mentorship program and re-establish Health Canada to provide free food to all players under level 18. These are just two basic things that most of the larger eNations currently do and should be done by eCanada.

(apologies to those this message doesn't apply to, but this is my only Newspaper~cheers)

eWorld Congress Elections

Tomorrow, all eNations will once again hold their Congress elections. With the state of the EDEN/Phoenix conflicts raging the importance of garnering support, willfully or otherwise from the eWorld's smaller eNations is extremely important. As with most elections there are a number of political take-over(PTO) and anti-take-over(ATO) attempts happening. While greater coverage of the status of PTO and ATO attempts will be provided tomorrow, some places to watch include:

eAustralia: where RL eAustalians will try to break the eIndonesian led Angel/Demon PTO (Poison and Perish Party) of the Congress following their break of the PTO of the Country President for the last two CP elections.

eBolivia: where the eBolivian parties attempts to push-off the eArgentinian backed Phoenix PTO of Congress who run as the Pindonga Nacionalista. eBolivia only recently, with the help of eIreland and other, captured its former region of Santa Cuz from eBrazil, while this has been seen as a victory for the small eNation, it has reinvigorated the push of their larger Phoenix neighbors to re-capture the formerly PTO eBolivia.

eBosnia and Herzegovina: the eSerbian led Demokratska Stranka Srpske [Party] hope to improve on their last two PTO attempts by gaining more than 50% of the Congress seats, which is what they have captured in the last two elections.

eDenmark: where the RL Danish led by the Great Two Fish Ovens hope to hold off Phoenix led PTO attempts who are running under the banner Danish Patriot Party.

eJapan: the eSOS Brigade [Party] will once again hope to hold off an eIndonesian let PTO of their eNation. However, while last month the PTO was successful in capturing 18 of 40 seats, this month eIndoneasia will likely be focusing more attention towards eThailand and eAustralia.

eMalaysia: where the Pakatan Rakyat party (endorsed by most parties) hopes to continue their hold off the eSerbian led PTO who run under the banner of Djozikeist Church of Malaysia. Last month eMalaysia was able to break a long standing PTO of both their Congress and Country President, however with the eUSA attacking eSerbia occupied regions in the are, eSerbia is expected to re-intensify its focus to PTO the eNation.

eSouth Africa: where ATOers are urging citizens to vote for the New Africa Party following the PTO of the United Democratic Alliance Party by the eHungarian led PTO who in this election run under the banner of several parties, however focus their efforts through the Progressive Party of South Africa.

The new eNations: This election we will also see how the newly added eNations fair in selecting their leaders and will provide the rest of the eWorld with a projection of where the eNations will fall in terms of their global alliance leaning:

eBelarus: In RL the nation of Belarus is a strong ally of Russia and in the game this has also shown to be true, with a large number of eRussians flocking to the eNation as a safe harbour whilst eRussia has been remove from the map.

eCyprus: as in RL conflict and political maneuvering for this island eNation is an ongoing battle between the two largest ethnic groups: Greeks and Turks. Given the hostilities between the two eNations it is expected that this battle will certainly spill in the eCypriot elections tomorrow. However, given the population make up, it is likely that eGreek back candidates will has an advantage.

eMontenegro: the eNation has been completely out of the news, however a number of "fringe groups" have flocked to the eNation hoping for a fresh start. While it is unclear as to the impact of these groups on the eNation, neighbouring Phoenix giant eSerbia will be watching the developments closely and has many loyal citizens in the eNation already.

eNew Zealan😛 This island eNation is reported to have the most active RL citizens of all of the newly added eNations, however that fact may not be enough to hold off foreign take-over of the country's government. The largest threat that RL Kiwis face is the newly minted Free New Zealand Party, an eSerbian dominated political party which as of yesterday became the largest political party in eNew Zealand.

eRepublic of China (Taiwan): The name the Admin choose for this island eNation seems to be holding true for them going into their first Congress election. The eNation's largest political parties, namely their largest is comprised by a vast majority of RL Chinese players or players sympathetic to eChina. While it's citizens were fearing a take over by a religious group known as Zamuelists, that has not panned out as the religious group have been greatly out-numbered by the hordes of eChinese citizens that have moved to the island eNation.

eRepublic of Macedonia (FYROM): With all of the fighting that occurred over the naming of this eNation, it is not a wonder that the elections here will be hotly contested. Citizens from around the balkhans have flocked to the eNation. In fact at over 7,300 citizens the eNation is over ten times the size of any of the other new eNations and is currently the eWorld's tenth largest eNation. However the eNation is dominated by RL FYROMians (?) and will likely hold off any outside political force.

eWorld Population

Over the last week the eWorld's population has finally stopped declining and in fact has begun to grow. Following the implementation of V2, many players that dis-liked the game, quit and their citizens slowly began to die off. This caused the global population to be cut roughly in half: down to +/-182,000 from +/-380,000. However in the last week more citizens have joined the game versus those that have died off/left the game. This has resulted in a net population shift of +10,200 citizens.

The majority of these new citizens are a result of the baby booms that have occurred in Turkey, Brazil and the Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). Of these three; eTurkey has gained the most, nearly doubling its population since the commencement of the eGreek invasion of their regions last week. Many had thought that this population boom was actually new Geek's joining the game as the boom was occurring on eGreek soil, however now that eGreece has been pushed back we can identify that there were actually 7,000 new eTurkish citizens that have joined, making eTurkey the third largest eNation in the eWorld.

While the majority of the population gains are in Pheonix-member eNations, it is also worth noting that ePoland has increased its population, becoming the first eNation since the mass-deaths of the last months to cross the 20,000 citizens mark, though it is speculated that the majority of the eNation's new citizens are actually eRussians living in the ePoland occupied regions.

eTurkey

Yesterday, eTurkey reclaimed their last eGreek occupied region, capturing Eastern Anatolia.

eTurkey had been completely removed from the map four days ago by their EDEN neighbour eGreece, however following a large baby boom that nearly doubled the eNations populations and many other battles that were prioritized by EDEN, they were able to rally back and recapture all of their native regions.

While many eTurkish citizens are urging their Country President to push on an attack an eGreek region, the government has made no indication that they will heed the call of their citizens and carry on further.

eRomania, ePoland and eRussia

Following eRomania and ePoland's success in holding off an eRussian resistance wars in five of their occupied eRussian regions yesterday, eRussian has once again launched a resistance war in the eRomanian occupied region of Volga. The launch of the resistance war will mark the 15th attempt by eRussia to free a region since they were wiped off the map last week by ePoland and eRomania.

The battle for Volga is expected to wrap up in the same way as the previous 14 resistance battles the eNation has launched, in a loss for eRussia.

As it currently stands eRussia will not be able to regain a region and will be prevented from holding Congress elections tomorrow. As previously reported, this will result in the eNation not forming a government for the entirety of November and will, should the eNation regain a single region over the next month, result in them having open citizenship and thus vulnerable to a PTO.

If you know of any global event that merits highlighting, please PM me and I will do my best to include them. Should there been errors in my coverage, please PM me or comment below and I will double check facts and make any corrections needed.

Please also note, that I will be taking a leave from publishing for the next little while, but will be back once things slow down and I can allocate time to eRep once again. Thanks.

Oh and as always... trolololo away.
