Around the World in 60 seconds : Day 1,007

Day 1,007, 07:44 Published in Canada Albania by Roger Griswald

I will be attempting to provide reports on global highlights every 24-48 hours or so...

eWorld

At 0:01 eEpublik time, the global population dropped by just over 140,000 citizens. This mass-death, so to speak, is the end result of all players who had left the game before version 2 (v2) had launched, but had yet to die by the day v2 went live. As a result at the launch of v2, the over a 100,000 players' wellness was restored to 100. As a players health is reduced daily, it was only a matter of time until all of the revived citizens died once and for all.

Most eNations have seen their populations reduced by roughly one-third, with a few exceptions (for a complete list ranking by population : http://www.erepublik.com/en/rankings/countries/1/2).

The global population is expected to continue to drop over the new few weeks as rage-quitters, those who quite following the change to v2, begin to die off.

ePoland

Last night the new world saw one of the most impressive land-swaps occur. ePoland, starting in Anhui, China, land-swapped with eNorth Korea over five regions to the recently captured Western Siberia, Russia. The move as you can see on the map below, cleared through all of eChina. The move positions ePoland, the largest enation in terms of population as a buffer between eRussia and the newly conquered eastern eRussian regions.

This land swap also provides ePoland with the ability to attack eSerbian controlled Liaoning Province in eastern eChina, a region that it rich in iron, that has been under eSerbian controlled since February 2010. Liaoning is a veritable eSerbian stronghold with two Q5 hospitals, a defense system and a population of 9,500.

eBolivia

In what has been an endless off and on war for the survival of eBolivia against eArgentina, ePeru and eChile since July 2009, resulted recently in the total conquering of all eBolivian regions. However resistance fighters are struggling to reclaim three of their former regions (Pando, Beni and Cochabamba, and Bolivian Altiplano). While the battle to reclaim Bolivian Altiplano from eArgentina finished in defeat early this morning, resistance fighters were successful in reclaiming Beni and Chabamba (07:27 - eRep time) along with Pando (08:43 - eRep time) from ePeru.

eUK and eFrance

In a move that some call cowardly and others call strategic, eFrance actually retreated from from the attack launched by eCanada on their previously controlled regions of East Midlands, UK and Lower Normany, France in order to allow the eUK to attack East Midlands and themselves attack Lower Normandy at a time that was most advantageous for themselves (ie, their RL prime time). The strategic move proved successful with both eNations retaking their respective regions.

Upon completion of the battle for East Midlands, the eUK immediately attacked its formerly controlled region of Yorkshire & Humberside, Canada. The battle for Yorkshire & Humberside is slated to wrap up at 13:00 - eRep time.

As of this morning, it looks like eCanada has grown tired of its war with the eUK, as eCanadian CP Acacia Mason announced that eCanada will likely not be attacking additional regions, instead the eNation will be focusing its energy on aiding in other EDEN military actions around the world. This will mean that the eUK will be struggling over the next few weeks to reclaim its lost regions, most likely, without the threat of a counter attack from eCanada. For more info read CP Acacia Mason's State of the Nation address (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-cp-state-of-the-nation-1496117/1/20).

eThailand

The ongoing Political Take Over (PTO) of eThailand by eIndonesia has resulted in the economy of the eNation taking a nose dive. Since being elected the eThailand Country President (Luthfisnet a known eIndonesian PTOer) has successfully passed trade embargoes against eRomania, eCroatia, eSpain, ePoland and eUSA (there is a current proposal before congress to add eIsrael to the list). These eNations represent the largest trading partners eThailand had previous to the CP elections. The embargoes have led to major inflation within the economy, with all raw materials selling well above global averages.

eThailand is one of three eSouth Pacific eNations that have been PTOed by eIndonesia. The other two are eMalaysia and eAustralia.
