Around the World in 60 seconds : 1,549th Day

Day 1,549, 13:28 Published in Canada Albania by Roger Griswald

Note: No Maps today as the eRepublik map is broken...

Todays highlights:
- eIndonesia loosing citizens, battles and everything else.
- eCroatia hammers eSerbia as eSerbia hammers eRomania.
- ePoland is finding eUkraine to much to handle in a back and forth volley for Little Poland.
- Some new(er) global alliances you might not have heard about/care about.

Quote of the Day: “I do still believe in eCanada, there are a great many good people here. We will prevail. Moreover, we will all find common political ground.” – Ralph Kline (after watching eCanada’s largest political party be PTO yesterday)

eIndonesia on the Decline

The once mighty Pease GC and Phoenix super-power, eIndonesia, used to command and control everything in the Asia-Oceana theater. The eNation could wipe out its neighbors with little resistance and at its height controlled regions from Siberia to Australia (North-South) and Canada to Pakistan (East-West). However, it seems the days of their domination are over.

eIndonesia has been checked hard by the new power in the region, eChina. As eChina has grown to become the dominant player in that time-zone, eIndonesia has lost thousands of citizens, but more importantly they have lost their solid experience base. In fact things are so bad at the moment for them that the average XP is 16 (the eWorld average is 25). Thus most of their over eight thousand citizens are actually new players or multies.

Throughout their entire existence, eIndonesia was able to prevent the loss of its native regions; until last year, when the eUSA “deflowered” (the common expression used in the media) them in a war fought from the eUSA’s colonies in eIndia. Since that time, the floodgates have been thrown wide open with occupying forces of eChina, eAustralia, ePhilippines, and eMalaysia all having at some time captured an eIndonesian native region (all of which for most of their existence been occupied by eIndonesia). In a most shocking turn of eventsearlier this week; eSingapore (eRepubliks smallest eNation) was able to join the list in defeating eIndonesia and occupying their native soil.

Unfortunately for eIndonesia, they will likely not be able to regain the upper hand in the region with the growing strength of eAustralia to their south and the regions new giant eChina to their north. It may soon come to pass that eIndonesia will join the ranks of once great eNations reduced to rubble, occupation and political take-over, much like the former Asian titan ePakistan who once dominated the early eRepublik eWorld.

eCroatia, eSerbia and eRomania keep the Balkan Fires of War Ablaze

Having captured the eSerbian region of Vojvodina, cutting off eSerbia’s border with the war being waged in their ally eHungary’s native regions, eCroatia will likely dig further into eSerbia today by conquering the region of Eastern Serbia cutting off eSerbia’s supply of wheat and oil and slicing a line across the ONE powerhouse’s frontline with eRomania.

All the while, eSerbia have been for the most part ignoring the eCroatian assault, instead focusing its efforts in wiping eRomania, thus allowing eHungary to regain its regions. It’s a bit of a gamble on eSerbia’s part however, as eCroatia left unchecked will continue to capture their regions.

With eHungary back on the map, its only a matter of time before they actively reenter the fight. One thing is clear, the battle for the Balkans is far from over and will likely continue to dominate the priority lists for both EDEN and ONE, leaving many of ONE’s smaller members to continue to suffer occupation by Terra/EDEN member-nations with little chance of aid in the near future.

ePoland vs. eUkraine Turns Out to be a Pretty Even Match

For several weeks eUkrain and ePoland have volleyed back and forth for the control of the region of Little Poland (ePoland’s most South-Eastern region). Weeks ago when the eUkraine attack ePoland their objective had been to draw ePoland’s eye away from other battles with the eNations allies, however most would not have expected the success the eUkraine has seen. The eNation, which is merely a tenth of the size of ONE heavyweight ePoland, has not only been able to block ePoland’s multiple attempts to move into their native region and gain a border with eRomania, eBulgaria and eTurkey, but have successfully advanced several times into Little Poland.

This set-back has put ePoland in a tough situation, do they continue to focus efforts on aiding their allies (eHungary and eSerbia) in the Balkans or do they refocus their efforts to their own campaign and push through eUkraine causing eSerbia and eHungary to suffer in the short term and potentially exposing themselves to counter attack?

New eWorld Alliances Pop Up

Alliances are the life-blood for success of all eNations. They aim to bring military and economic stability to their members and inflict massive harm on their foes. Throughout eRepubliks history alliances have dominated the development of eNations. As has always been the case, alliances can be devided into two categories: regional or global. Currently there are two regional alliances operating in the game: the Alliance of Baltic Sattes (ABC) and the Arab Confederation.

The main alliances dominating the flow of daily life are the global ones and in particular the active global alliance until recently were the Order of New EWorld (ONE), Terra and the Erepublik Defense & Economy Network (EDEN) of which EDEN and Terra often collaborate to the point that they are commonly referred to as T/EDEN.

Recently however, a group of smaller eNations that are often harassed, politically taken-over and or occupied by the larger eNations T/EDEN have banded together to form a new global alliance that they have named the eWorld Partnership for Interdependent Countries (EPIC). The alliance has seven member-nations from every continent (save Africa) and has a mission to provide support for their members and the ONE alliance. Critics of the new alliance say that it is an alliance comprised of countries that are either completely wiped or politically taken over my ONE member-nations. While the alliance will likely have little effect in changing the current make up of inter-government alliances, it is mostly, according to sources, about providing the appearance of additional support to the ONE alliance.

The other new alliance in play these days is the Garden EDEN Alliance (GEA), an alliance comprised of eNations currently in the trial membership stage of becoming full EDEN member-nations. The alliance currently hosts three member-nations who are given mutual protection pacts with T/EDEN member-nations.
