Around the world, day 2402

Day 2,402, 12:38 Published in Finland Finland by TheJuliusCaesar
Hey! Hey guys! Have you been watching football lately? I have, all but two games so far. Highly recommending, most goal-rich and highest quality World Cup for a while. Let's get to the main business, then.

The United States has several times sought to gain vital weapon production bonus from their southern neighbour Mexico via diplomacy. Mexico being an ally and a friend of the US - a major world power - it is obvious that the first mentioned feels positive towards the renting of Baja region. However, as the US and Mexico share multiple common MPP's, it would be extremely costly for the US to attack Mexico directly. Because of this, USA has asked for her allies with only few MPP's to conduct an airstrike to Baja, which would then be taken by the US. This operation has earlier been conducted by Denmark, and now by the Netherlands . For the enemies of the US, Baja offers an invaluable draining opportunity, as the region is extremely costly to retake. Opening a RW in Baja effectively ties the American damage, or at least a large part of it.

15th of June was again scheduled for monthly elections to determine leaders for each political party. The United States was again threatened with a PTO by an old foe - Ajay Bruno, Ronald Gipper Reagan, Pizza the Hut (many names, eh) - this time in the United States Workers Party, again with a new name. The takeover attempt was countered successfully, as it should be. More about the topic here.

Perhaps even more dramatic were the elections in the UK: The Unity Party (TUP) - a home of players like Kravenn and Iain Keers - was taken over by a player named BigAnt. When I say taken over, I mean that people migrated from different parties to TUP in order to vote for BigAnt and oust the current leadership team. Needless to say, this created a great divide within the already fragmented UK community, some claim that the move was justified, some obviously disagree. To further mess things up, the biggest two parties of the country are now being led by players who support Serbia rather than Poland, which is a current ally of the UK.

As if the situation internally within the UK isn’t bad enough, they are also under attack - by two countries. Both Canada and Argentina have declared war on UK. At the moment Canada is winning in Scotland, which would halve the British production bonuses - their capital being located in Northern Ireland. At the same time Argentina is crossing the English Canal and attacking the mainland UK. I seriously doubt that the UK is able to counter both of the attacks, if even one.

It has been a busy week in every alliance. Both Asteria and Asgard presented a new HQ, including players like TT Lighter, former MoFA and president of Serbia in Asteria HQ, and zRTx, well known oldfag and (sadly) an enthusiastic Dioist, in the Asgard HQ. The Asgardian article mentions that Poland has nearly been driven out of Scandinavia, and that Russia has an agreement with Norway regarding the latter one’s regions. Aurora News has interviewed former SG’s of both Sirius and Asteria, Iain Keers and Aradjanski Branko. The former Secretary Generals were questioned about the near past of their alliances. Keers had to answer questions regarding the exit of Brazil and the expulsion of the US from the alliance. As Asteria hasn’t lately witnessed any drama inside the alliance, Branko faced a bit “easier” questions, mostly regarding the confrontation of Asteria and Aurora.

Earlier this week there were little birds tweeting that all the money had vanished from the Treasury Organization of Serbia, as the organization was empty at certain point. There were conflicting rumours on “theft” and “keeping the money safe”, but apparently the situation has solved itself. The money is back where it belongs.

Chile is still having a strong presence in Europe. After the South American giant signed a NAP with Argentina multiple months ago, she has been able to forge a stronghold in the old continent - helping Aurora nations in their battle against Asteria. During their double determination bonus Chile even managed to wipe Serbia - a task which hadn’t been achieved for an extremely long time. Now Chile holds multiple regions in France. In Southern Asia India is still being sliced between several South American countries including Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, and Canada from North America. Iran has also taken few regions from India, who is currently holding only one of her 16 regions.

That’s all this week,
- Caesar
