So, how has the week passed in the New World? Who has made progress? Who has been dealt the scent of defeat? Find out in this week's edition of Around the World!

MAJOR WARS

The Colombian Crisis
Before

After

Belligerents: Colombia vs. Brazil, Mexico, Spain
Results: Well, what can ya do? Facing big, bad Brazil and little sidekick Mexico, Colombia was no match for the CoT forces, as the last region for the newest EDEN nation died with a whimper. With everyone opposing EDEN aiming for a border with China, Brazil now has a pathway into the Pacific, where they can support the Spanish troops already resting in the Philippines. With Argentina traditionally a good friend of Brazil (though in all fairness their relations have cooled) and unable to help anyway, Colombia will need China's help to return to the map. And is that likely? Ehhhh....

Winner (campaign): Brazil, Mexico, Spain (devastating)

The Spamerican Pacific Travels
Before

After

Belligerents: China, Taiwan (ROC), Philippines vs. USA, Spain
Results: What about China? I think it's most definitely better with China! With Taiwan occupied by American forces (well, the island at least) and Spain marching up the Philippines, China took action, NEing Spain in an attempt to push back the impending threat. Although Spain took the first stab, aiming for Guangdong, the Chinese quickly reminded the Spaniards how no one messes with Hong Kong, sending them back to the Philippines. Spain has since started scrambling to seal themselves away from the Chinese, a testament to their might. China isn't letting anyone beat them that easily.

Winner (this week): China, Taiwan (ROC), Philippines (minor)
Winner (campaign): USA, Spain (devastating)

The Chilean Counterattack
Before

After

Belligerents: Argentina, Bolivia vs. Chile, Paraguay
Results: The doors are closing in for the Argentinians, as Chile's armies march ever-so-closer. Although Argentina has managed to fight their RWs with surprising effectiveness, their pace is nowhere near as fast as that of the Chileans' attack. As a result, Argentina has been steadily regions to their hated adversary. Argentina has now dug themselves into a hole that will be difficult to escape from. Argentina doesn't even have to deal with two fronts (Paraguay is biding its time), yet they are simply outmuscled by their neighbor. Argentina is simply begging for help, and they need some to avoid the fate that Colombia faced.

Winner (this week): Chile, Paraguay (minor)
Winner (campaign): Chile, Paraguay (devastating)

The Croatian Naval Base
Start

After

Belligerents: Croatia vs. India, Indonesia, Thailand
Results: In a huge change of events, Croatia and India completely had a falling out, and Croatia was quick to attack their new enemy, with questionable motives, as many players outside of EDEN nations claim Croatia to have instigated a war to claim all of India's resources. Whatever the casus belli, the result is India swapping sides to CoT, and Croatia attacking India. Despite a little help from their friends, India was unable to beat back the Croats, as their lands were split up into chunks, decimating their resource bonuses. Croatia may be winning, but at what cost?

Winner (this week): Croatia
Winner (campaign): Croatia

The Balkan Suppression
Before

After

The Greek Epic
Belligerents: Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Turkey vs. Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia
Results: Greece is in shambles. Surrounded by enemies from both TWO and CoT that were growing more and more powerful, their defeat in the Balkans was all but destined, especially with the Romanians’ hesitance to intervene until it was too late. Greece has been pushed back to a lone province in Saudi Arabia, with the Saudi RW wall keeping the Serbs away but not saving the Greeks from the Bulgarian army poised to fully wipe the Greeks for the first time in more than a year. RWs in the Balkans have been either unsuccessful or quickly snuffed by the occupying Macedonian and Serbian forces. Greece is all but gone.

Winner (this week): Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia (devastating)
Winner (campaign): Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia (devastating)

Feasting on Turkey
Belligerents: Turkey, Romania vs. Hungary, Bulgaria
Results: Well, to be fair, Turkey is pretty delicious, and the eaters were pretty Hungary. Eh, Hungary? Hungry? Ahhhhhhhhh 😑 Anyway, Turkey, controlling northeastern Saudi Arabia for the longest time, has lost all their colonies in the region, and is now watching their lands getting munched up bite by bite by the invading Hungarian and Bulgarian forces. Romania made a valiant effort, attacking the Hungarian-controlled BSCoT with strong support from all of EDEN, but twas in vain. Romania is now on the defensive itself, with Dobrogea being the first region to fall. Will two more EDEN nations fall to CoTWO imperialism?

Winner (this week): Hungary, Bulgaria
Winner (devastating): Hungary, Bulgaria

The Battle for Scandinavia
Before

After

The Finnish March South
Belligerents: Finland vs. Estonia
Results: One of those rare occasions when Finland is on the defensive. Nothing more than a sideshow to the main event of possible Asgard expansion (Asgard FTW!!!), Finland has been embroiled in close fights nonetheless. Finland lost control of Eastern Finland to Estonian forces, but managed to recapture Southern Finland from the invaders. While the war front itself has been all but stagnant, each battle is a very tightly contested one, with neither nation willing to give up the fight. Estonia has had difficulty managing both the front and an RW at the same time in the past, but it’s simply too close to call. Both nations will need all the help they can get.

Winner (this week): DRAW
Winner (devastating): Estonia (minor)

The Swedish Coastal Barrage
Belligerents: Sweden vs. Lithuania, Latvia
Results: Lithuania has been cleansed from Swedish regions, but Latvia remains entrenched in their invasion attempt of Sweden. Germark has been blocked off from the battlefield once again, and Norway has had no reason to send their troops. As a result, it’s a 2v1 once again. Latvia has been far more successful than the Lithuanians, as any Lithuanian attempt at an invasion would involve taking Scania, the region that borders Germark. The Lithuanians have been hesitant as a result. No matter what, Sweden still remains on the defensive, and like its Finnish friend to the east could use all the help they can get.

Six-Day Wars
