Around the World #21; Another Party in Argentina

Day 1,822, 01:50 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

So, how has the week passed in the New World? Who has made progress? Who has been dealt the scent of defeat? Find out in this week's edition of Around the World!

MAJOR WARS

The Alphabet Wars
Before

After

The Polish Support of ABC
Belligerents: Finland, Sweden vs. Poland, Estonia, Latvia
Results: When Poland fights, they mean business. Both Sweden and Finland were simply outclassed, as Polish troops marched north with little effort, brushing off feeble attempts to stop them in their tracks. Within days of the war declaration, Sweden was wiped, and Finland soon fell, both to Polish forces and to the pesky Estonian army, which snuck in a couple of captured provinces as well. While Poland has been willing to give back Swedish lands, Finland has not seen such generosity. It appears that the endless wars are at last over, and with a result that Asgard surely doesn't like.

Winner (this week): Poland, Estonia, Latvia (devastating)
Winner (campaign): Poland, Estonia, Latvia (devastating)

The Croatian Oceanic Empire
Before

After

Belligerents: Croatia vs. Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand
Results: Croatia got kicked out of their makeshift base in Oceania just like Romania, but give the Croats credit; they planned ahead. While losing their regions in the area was a temporary setback, Croatia simply restarted their efforts from their base in India, powering through Thailand and reaching a border with turncoat Malaysia, and battle preparations have begun on both sides, with Croatia hoping to reestablish its control over Malaysia and the latter not ready to give in yet. Croatia's going in for round 2 of Operation Oceania, and this time, they're going in alone.

Winner (this week): Malaysia, Thailand (minor)
Winner (campaign): Malyasia, Thailand

The Return of Romania
Start

End

Belligerents: Romania vs. Bulgaria
Results: Welcome back, Romania, I guess. Romania was absolutely crushed in Oceania, but managed to regain its senses, recapturing its regions getting 'taken care of' by Bulgaria with extreme precision and swiftness, though Bulgaria's reluctance to put much of an effort definitely made things much easier for the Romanians. Thanks to Romania's energetic revolts and Bulgaria's apathy, Romania finds itself completely rebuilt, ready to take on the world once again. Who will they take on? No one knows, but one thing's for certain: Romania's back, and stuck in the Balkans again, for better or for worse.

Winner (campaign): Romania

The Serbian Quest for the New World
Start

End

Belligerents: Croatia, Bosnia, Italy, France vs. Serbia, Macedonia (FYROM)
Results: In this corner, we have Serbia, a powerful force! And its sidekick, Macedonia the mighty! And in the other corner, we have! errr....A Croatia that's running away and three awesome but weak nations that hold a grand total of eight provinces combined out of a historic 45 regions! Yes, this battle was nowhere near close. Serbia used the lands released by Macedonia to cut through Italy, reaching France in the blink of an eye. Luckily for the French, the Serbs aren't interested in bordering America alone, but the imminent threat can't be good for the French people's sanity. And the other three sure don't like being occupied either.

Winner (campaign): Serbia, Macedonia (FYROM)

The Chilean Counterattack
Start

Belligerents: Argentina, Bolivia vs. Chile, Peru
Results: Like the picture? It took some time so enjoy! Anyway, Argentina failed in its attempt to both beat up Chile and rescue Australia, and Chile quickly recaptured a couple of provinces in its old home base, making a quick push to expand back to their historic household. In the north, Peru recaptured Argentina's lone Peruvian colony, and attempted to make a move eastward to threaten the Argentinians. Fortunately for the Argentinians, though, they threw up their Bolivian wall to block off any attempts to reach Argentina's main regions. That being said, however, Argentina will have to find a way out of this mess quickly.

Winner (this week): Chile, Peru
Winner (campaign): Chile, Peru

The Greek Epic
Start

Belligerents: Greece vs. Bulgaria, Macedonia (FYROM)
Results: Not much to say. Greece is about to engage in two fronts. Who will win? Who will be wiped? Stay tuned to the next episode of eRepublik Z!

Six-Day Wars
Netherlands powerless against big, bad Poland
Australia revived in N. Australia (possible cover next week)
Colombia back, but Brazil to come (^)
