Armaggeddon in Congress for the SDP !

The official Congress elections are out, the SDP has lost half of their seats, and only 56 votes were cast in favor of our candidates. This is a sharp decline from the previous 4 seats and 136 voters.
Less members, less voters, the message is clear... no ? I hear some members that have been leading this party claim it was a great success... for somebody else ! Sometimes I think they are outside of this world.
If anybody wishes to contest the decline of the SDP, they don't take facts into consideration.
I warned of this many time before. I even tried in a previous article why peopel should vote for the SDP... in vain. I think the main reason is that our candidates didn't appeal to our previous voters, that the SDP has lost the wind of change blowing it forward. The party is now out of touch with the population it seeks to represent.
A few so called "experienced players" took the helm trying to make SDP a regular party like all the others... All this just favoured traditional parties. They can't even take advantage of an agonizing Spectrum to get ahead. We did this well in the time of the FDP and TRS.
The results are in and they can't be contested. Their strategy is flawed and is taking the party down. I expect the Party President to reflect on this defeat and draw all the lessons necessary. We can never afford to ignore our electorate and what makes this party popular.
The party needs to be structured, if nothing is done the adventure will be over.
I can therefor announce in advance that I will be candidate for a new term as SDP Party President, and will publish a full programme soon to get this party started again.
In the meanwhile, there is no reason to leave the party, but every reason to join it and help me get the job done.

There were 16 contested seats, less than half the usual 40. We took 4 last time, and 2, half of that, this time. That's without even taking into account the fact we deserved an extra seat from Borovsky, but he was banned.
And even with the extra 3 seats handed out pretty much randomly to the EoE candidates, we still have increased our proportion of the seats since last time.
I'm sorry, you deserved nothing on account of Borovszky. He got 9 votes before 9AM on election day. I was very glad to see him banned. Obvious multi-ing.
We had plenty of tactical votes left, we would have been able to get another candidate in in Wales.
Still, 2 from 16 is an improvement.
Melophore, this is a polite request.
Please stop spouting such random useless unsubstantiated under-thought rubbish out in the open - all you are doing is serving to try and undermine the party you say you care about.
@Sfeir - it's odd how people in other parties scream "multi" as soon as someone new on the scene does well in elections - I had the same false accusation laid at *my* door back when I got elected. Just having a lot of support is _not_ the same as "being a multi".
Even without Borovsky, the elections were a success. 2 from 16 is better than 4 from 40.
I like how SDP members are turning against Melophore. This is a dawn of a fabulous new era.

Melophore, please think before posting. You are at the moment destroying the party that you have worked so much on. Try and be calm and help us get things better. With out slaghing the 'experienced' members off in public. Melophore if you keep this up you will have had your day.

given the last PP election, I would have to say that Melophore running for PP is the only thing that could bring me back to the SDP at the moment. It is clear that SDP has lost its way, and needs Melophore to get back into the PP seat, because the current PP is not up to the job.

Which is of course why I let Applefreak run in London as well, even though it detracted from my vote, why, despite losing the election, I've stayed in the party and helped, not ragequit like Eric, why I chose not to run for Congress in my first month in the SDP, as there were other people who had more time.

This just shows that you consider yourself de facto the leader of the party. It just shows that Rory has no leadership, and lets you do what you want. Including asking me not to stand in your favour or be removed from the SDP usergroup.

Melophore, all this, and everything you've said just goes to show that you just want the SDP to be your vehicle for politics. When someone else has an opinion, you say they're destroying the party or what it was founded on (actually you're right there, as it was founded for you to tell everyone what to do). And when the results are delivered, you deny them, as apparently moving up to 4th place and increasing the party's proportion of congress is a huge failure.
Melophore: it has become very clear to me that the only one who has "lost it" is you. I have been, in the past, one of your staunchest advocates and supporters - no more. I have a brain, and I can see when someone has lost it and is not worth following any more. Your continued rantings in public do nothing to improve your standing among many of us who have been there from the sub-50 membership days... you have lost any sympathy I may have had for you and now just have my pity. Is that what you hoped to achieve?

I think you'll find I was nominated by Ben Clew to be the SDP's CP candidate, and we have held a poll (that's called democracy btw) and I am in negotiations with other parties to support their candidates.
