If you are a regular player, you have probably already realized that it's better you don't even try that (at home). However, everything is possible if you want it hard enough. So how hard do you want the Top Fighter Medal?

The Value and the Price of Top Fighter Medal
First you need to ask yourself two questions:
#1 How much is Top Fighter Medal worth?
It's simple: 5 gold.
#2 But how much does it cost?
The answer to that question is not so simple to answer...
But we can calculate it simply or make an estimate.
Btw. what do YOU think? How much does it cost?
I estimated it to 1000 Euros. What do you say? Was I close? Read on!
Joining The Top 100 Fighters Club
No 100 Fighter in Top 100 Fighters Club - Day 1464
Let's say that you need 3 million influence per day in order to get to Top 100 Fighters, although that might also not be enough. If your strength is not so enormously high that your hit in the battle is stronger than bazooka hit (10 k hit), then you would need bazookas to reach 3 million influence per day. Just to mention, if you hit 240 times per day, your hit would need to be worth 12500 influence high in order to reach 3 million influence per day. If you have some candy bars, you can do with a bit less worth hit.

Anyway, it is not likely that you have so powerful hits, unless you are Romper and even for him I am not sure if he can do it without bazookas.
So in order to make 3 million influence per day and make it to Top 100 Fighters club, you would need 100 bazookas per day. Which make 300 hits per day. That means you would also need at least 6 energy bars per day.
In order to get a Top Fighter Medal, you need to make it to Top 100 Fighters in 30 different days. That means spending 3000 bazookas and 180 energy bars, at least.
If you are going to collect bazookas and energy bars in daily fights and if you manage to raise 3 bazookas and 1 energy bar per day, which is, I might say, very optimistic, you would need 180 days or 6 months to collect energy bars, which is not so unattainable. However, to collect 3000 bazookas at the rate of 3 bazookas a day, you would need 1000 days or approximately 3 years to collect it all. That is not a feasible option unless you are an extremely patient player. And who would have so much time to wait? God knows and not even Admins know what will happen with this game in three years... Unless... No... No? Well, there is one more option, but I'll tell you about it at the end of this article... Now, let's stop with speculations and get back to calculations.
As I said, you would need 3000 bazookas and 180 candy bars, so let's calculate how much would all that cost in gold. Now, when the bazooka parts are purchasable, you would need 15000 bazooka parts which would cost you s 13500 gold (at 0.9 gold per bazooka part) or 12000 gold (at 4 gold per a 5 bazooka parts pack). Even at the cost of 0.5 gold per bazooka part, it would mean 7500 gold. Compared to that, 180 energy bars would cost you 'only' 702 gold (if purchase in 10 energy bar packs at 39 gold each).

It might seem reasonable to check out the option without bazookas and only with energy bars.

If you have a 2000 influence hit (with Q5 weapons), you would need to hit 1500 times a day, which means 240 regular hits + 126 energy bars per day. That would add up to 3780 energy bars in 30 days, which would cost 14742 gold. It seems that it's still cheaper to buy bazookas, especially when you consider buying all those extra Q5 weapons (9000 pieces of Q5 weapons in total; the price: 251.1 gold at 2.79 gold per 100 Q5 weapons).
On the other hand, if you have a 6000 influence hit (also with Q5 wep), you would need to hit only 500 times a day, which means 240 regular hits and 26 energy bars per day. That would mean 780 energy bars in 30 days at the cost of 3042 gold. Additional Q5 weapons equipment would add 100 Q5 weapons per day for 30 days, or 87.5 gold in total.
As I didn't have a peek at Loyalty Program, it is probable that you might get some discount from the Admins for such large purchases. If you had such experience, please let me know, I am very curious.

When we sum it all up and turn it to Euros (300 Gold for 100 Euros), this little pleasure would cost you:
a) 4234.00 Euros if buying bazooka parts packs and energy bars
b) 4997.70 Euros if buying energy bars and Q5 weapons with a 2000 influence hit.
c) 1043.17 Euros if buying energy bars and Q5 weapons with a 6000 influence hit.
d) 0.00 Euros and 1000 days of collecting bazookas and energy bars.

Now it is clearly that this Top Fighter Medal is a compensation to the Top Players and Top Customers for Battle Hero medals, which is now in the reach of all players in eRepublik.
Which just reminded me of what I've promised earlier to tell you... There is one more possibility to get a Top Fighter medal if you are a bit more patient then the others. If you just wait a bit more longer, it is possible that the Top Fighter Medal gets also reachable for all players in eRepublik, just like the Battle Hero medal did recently. It will happen when there is only 100 players left in this game. It might come sooner than you think!

to answer your qt, depending on the Loyalty Category, you get additional (X %age gold AND free bazookas and energy bars) Not sure how much it is for Platinum etc... but I would guess they would get about 50-60% extra gold and maybe 30 energy bars and bazookas with every purchase. Best to get that answer from Romper himself! : )

No, not necessarily.... They might have huge influence per hit, and might have some ingame gold income, but some of them probably spend some extra money to increase their influence. There is also Loyalty points program which might additionally increase their battle influence...

Also there was this special item that increased influence 40%.
I think the whole math should be redone after the 4 days are over, next week, I think the cost should be around 40% lower.
Also in the process of reaching the top 100 I'm pretty sure you'd win at least a couple of BH medals per day and most likely a CH medal too... that's 15 golds every day you should discount from the final cost.
In the end, I don't think the TF medal is as bad as everybody seems to think.
The Battle Hero on the other hand is the devil itself.

But I wrote it from a perspective of nonbuying players.
Yes, actually with 3 million daily influence it would be possible to win 6 BH medals and possibly 2-3 CH medals, which could make another 40-45 gold per day. It's not guaranteed, but nothing is. That would reduce the price of the medal for additional 1200-1350 gold. Which would be 300-350 Euros less.
With some additional Admins discounts, the costs of Top Fighter Medal can be further reduced... Special items are currently not available unfortunately... What was the price of that special item with 40 % more influence?
I meant that you won't need 3kk influence because those numbers are skewed by the special item; in the end probably you'll need 1 million or 1.5 million to make it to the top 100.
Also, I agree that this is for elite players only but I don't have too much problem with that. After all they'll get from it is 5 golds every month. On the other hand, the battle hero medal is giving them these same players 10 or 20 golds on a daily basis.
I rather have medals impossible to reach for us mortals but harder to get for the top players, than medals hard to get for us but really easy for them.

True, the time will tell, but as it seems the daily influence made by Top 100 Fighters is rising every day, not lowering...
Everyone should have medal he cannot get. I cannot get the Society Builder medal. I think they idea of bringing Top Fighter medal was smart. Something difficult to get is itself motivating.

Every single person in that top 100 each day gets up there by burning through some consumables. For most of them it's energy bars. But even for a really strong fighter like me (over 6000 per hit) like you said, it would cost me something like 3000 gold to do it. I would much rather get myself a whole lot of companies to keep my income up.
@ Janko - that 40% thing was 188 or 198 gold i think... do not exactly remember (maybe 178?)
@ ghishae - for some reason I do not think these promotional offers are temporary - they will consistently cycle every month. Reason? its like the great Mall rush - housewives buy useless stuff cos its available at discounts...same goes for our players - simple psychology.
How that doubles up as profits is that its not only TEDEN buying, its ONE players too,
