Are We A Superpower?

A Pressing Question
For many a day now I have asked myself if this great nation we call the eUS is truly a superpower. I would like to thank so, and though we are not perfect, the recent events such as battering ONE with the assistance of our allies, a decent gain in population, and holding a high number of regions, currently 59. Those could all be said to be great signs of the health of our nation, and are certainly things we can be proud of as individuals fighting for their country.
The Economy
The recent drop in food prices could be good or bad, depending on who you talk to. There are no longer 200 USD job offers on the market, the highest being 135 USD. Some have said that the nation is in a recession, and while I cannot tell that for certain, I would say that we could expect average conditions on the horizon for the economics.
Politics
The recent gain in national population over the last few weeks has translated into larger numbers of Americans in the political party system. The USWP is of course up front, with membership of 875 citizens. The second party on the membership list is the AMP, with 652 members. Our Presidential elections have seen more voters over the last few months, with the numbers below to show steady growth.
Feb 2012: 2087
Jan 2012: 1951
Dec 2011: 1797
Hopefully this results in some more new faces entering the political scene in the new year. I'm looking forward to seeing what we'll see, and I'm all set to run for Congress once again this month.
Military
The military speaks for itself. It seems that our damage is continuing to show some results, as we seem to be winning the battle against ONE. I'm looking forward to the eventual defeat of ONE, and a new era where the threat of attacking powers is no longer eminent.
Conclusion
I think we could definitely make an argument for the eUS being classified as a superpower, but, I'll leave that to you all to decide. Make sure to leave your opinions in the comments train, and if you would like to share this with anyone, I would be the last to complain.
Meet the Press is up to 340 subscribers, and we would like to reach 350 before the month is out. I'm planning to once again set a monthly goal for the newspaper to reach, and I'll make sure to keep you all informed of the goals we set and what you can do to help. Start the effort by using the chain shout below to help people see the good work at Meet the Press.

The economics have changed largely due to the bot, if you look at prices compared to where they were back when wages were at $200, they've dropped almsot an equal amount.
Good interviews.
Also, I believe we are easily a superpower, and 50+ regions helps establish that fact. Huge population, and very dedicated MU's. It would be wrong to not consider us a superpower close to serbia, poland, and croatia.
no. super powers don't get their asses handed to them every few months.
I love the responses that you all gave, and please, keep them coming.
I mean yeah you could consider us a Superpower, but really it all depends about RL. Who's most active RL in what country, what country has the most visas and such. Maybe if the RL USA was more idk "tech savvy," we'd sure as hell be a superpower. I don't what I'm getting at but yeah... 😐
usa is top tier, and that translates to 200-300 players online at the same time
theres only 1 superpower, serbia. Online now 715
Interesting article, but perhaps a category problem entails when this subject comes up? What I mean is, what difference do such labels make? Why do I say that? Errmm, sometimes it seems, esp with eUSA, it can be counter-productive to think in these terms (see mccvii's comment... there's also an element of confusing rLife with eLife that arises when using this kind of terminology). The other concern with this term is that it is, oddly, somewhat constraining as it tends to focus attention solely or mainly on "worthiness" in terms of domination and leave aside other qualities like trustworthiness, friendliness, quality of e-life for citizens and so forth.
We are a member of a working coalition of equals, which is why our alliance system works for all its' members.
Serbia is the only true superpower, in that their "allies" are their lackeys, or don't exist at all anymore, because Serbia can't stop navel-gazing long enough to help them out.
Really interesting...
Anyone who thinks we have it rough should take a look at the economy of our ally Brazil. We are much better off and the economy is improving everyday.
