April Fools? NO!!!

Day 1,594, 14:57 Published in USA United Kingdom by Metta WorldPeace

Ah, April 1st. The Day we really never notice until we wake up on. Home to the most amiable event, April Fools Day. Some treasure it, others dread it. But why does it even exist? Why do we acknowledge it?

Let's blame this all on Geoffry Chaucer. If you've ever read The Canterbury Tales, you know of him. If not, don't put yourself through the boredom that the stories bring (IMO of course).

More specifically, it comes from the "Nun's Priest's Tale". Quite boring. It's about a chicken tricking a fox. Hence, fooling the fox. So we get...April Fools Day. Quite silly that we derive this wondrous/stupid day from one of the most classic (and dont forget boring, IMO) stories in the known world. Ah, look how far we have come as humans...

So remember this kids. Next year, on April 1st, remember this. Remember the history of April Fools day, and let's hope it makes you so bored that you just want to die a slow and painful death. If not, act a fool. Especially to your parents or friends that you just can't stand.
