AP😕ETTERS TO THE EDITOR

When it comes to choosing a place to live in this far and wide eWorld, you could not claim to be short of options. If you did, I'd probably declare you eInsane!

The question is; why do people (ie. you and me) choose to live in this land we call home? Well, if your anything like me, the English language is tough enough to tangle with let alone one I haven't spoken for over 20 years. For example, the only Bahasa Indonesian I picked up from eAustralia's recent occupation is 'Banana Pancake...' and im not even one hundred percent sure I'm pronouncing it right!

Nevertheless, I have thought long and hard on the options presented to us on our choice of home in the English speaking world. To put it simply, I believe whole-heartedly that the major contributing factor that influences our choice of which eCountry we choose to settle in is the community in which our character is best reflected. It is in this, that I have made some light observations:

Aussies (Australians): Believe you should look after your mates.
Poms (Englishmen): Believe you should look after the ones who belong to your club.
Americans (Seppos): Believe people should look after themselves.
Canadians (Pretend Seppos): Believe this is the governments job.

Aussies: Dislike being mistaken for Poms.
Canadians: Are a little indignant when mistaken for Americans.
Americans: Actively encourage being mistaken for Canadians.
Poms: Can never be mistaken for anyone else.

Americans: drink weak, pissy-tasting beer.
Canadians: drink strong, pissy-tasting beer.
Poms: drink warm, beer-tasting piss.
Aussies: drink them all under the table.

Americans: Will go on and on about grid-iron, baseball and basketball.
Poms: Will go on and on about cricket, soccer and rugby.
Canadians: Will go on and on about hockey, hockey and hockey.
Aussies: Will go on and on about beating the Poms in every sport they ever played them in... ever.

Yep. I love eAustralia, and I love eAustralians. The generosity, comradary and yes im going to say it... mateship, lays the foundations of what I believe will be the abosolute zenith of eCivilisation one day. To be able to say that I was apart of it swells my green and gold, kangeroo shaped, thong wearing, Dale Kerigan quoting, ticker...(Australian for heart).

I am, you are, we are eAustralian...
(it still works even with the extra vowel).
