Another Kind of Election - Party Presidency

Day 442, 12:32 Published in USA USA by NoneSuch

Consider this my candidacy article for running for the Presidency of the UCP. I've wanted the spot for a while but I've always figured everyone else would do a better job than I and would be more committed. In the recent months I've come to see that this isn't true at all and someone needs to actually run this party in a direction that isn't going to have it end up out of the Big 5.

- My Main Platform -

Put my last two articles together and add some preservatives and you can see where I'm coming from. I want this game to be an enjoyable experience for every player and I want to see things get done along the way. The UCP hasn't done much from what I can tell this past month. We've decided that we should change our name, tried starting an overseas party cooperation program, and I'm in the process of expanding our wellness program. Not a lot going on is there? What I really want to do, given the opportunity, is bring back a lot of old ideas and actually follow through with the new ones.

- Cabinet -

I remember in the first month or so in which I was a member of the UCP Justin has a party cabinet. I would really like to bring that back. The benefits of having a cabinet in any entity is a must and is really being overlooked in this case. I guarantee that this will not only increase party activity but it will increase our numbers as well. I'm not going to start dishing out positions now though because I don't want any dishonest votes. But what I can tell you is that there will be 5 or so completely separate departments each dedicated to helping expand our ranks and raising our activity levels.

- Basic Initiative -

The main reason for why the UCP is in it's current state is because no one really cares anymore. People read a little about us and join the UCP for our reputation of clean politics or some other random reason. We don't offer a single thing that some other party doesn't already offer two times better than we can, so it's no wonder why our numbers are so low. We've got the ideas, we've got the manpower, now let's do something!

- Why I'm Really Doing This -

After about a week of seeing what other parties have to offer, I've realized the UCP is in dire need of a jumpstart. The UCP got me where I am today and I plan on giving back with everything I've got. Most people would be satisfied getting 50 or so more members and another seat in Congress... I'm not going to be like most people in this case. I'm not even going to limit myself by setting a goal for the party. I want us to set a whole new standard for how a party should be run and for every other party to take notice.
