Anniversary? All is Not Well Plato ! Part-2

Day 2,920, 05:36 Published in India Croatia by ANANTHAKRISHNAN

Hey Again fellas,

So, this time I am going to make the next one in the series of "Anniversary? All is Not Well Plato". First of all, Thanks for the Great support in my last Article, 100+ votes is a first time for me, especially with no bought votes. So, I would try to keep up that, by doing my best 🙂

Next Thing, The Anniversary is only 2 days away, I had thought of publishing this article yesterday, but I went on Sabarimala Pilgrimage and came a bit late than expected. So here you have it now.

So, for those who did not read the last one, then this series of Articles is on things that have gone wrong since the last Anniversary, which have to be rethought of.

So, for Today we have this topic: Dictatorship Module!

Dictatorship Module was introduced with great show and many welcomed the "ideas and thoughts" of having a new module, but when it really came, things got very very different. So, it takes you 200,000 currency, a great MU and some super strong damage base to become the dictator. And when you do that, you have control over the entire country. And to liberate that country, you again need 200000 currency and a MU and damage. And then again the same for being dictator. Nuts?? That question is to the dictators !

"So, you think people really do it? Spend so much cash and time and be dictators? "
Ofcourse People, Really they do.
"Why?"
They get to collect all the cash from the country reserves and taxation. They get supreme complete control over the country. The President and Congress are just for a show and have no power (think of it, the congressmen even dont get gold for winning medal). They can play as they want. But above all, They just want to be superior.

This was not how it was. Parties used to do top campaigning, make policies to contest and win the next elections with a good margin and to have the next president be from their party. You can call it sometimes Political War, but atleast power was divided and all were involved. There was a Democracy !

But Plato as always does not care of all that. For him his Main reasons for introducing the module is being met;
Country Currency prices have fallen massively, from 205cc =1 gold, it has fallen to 300+cc per gold. This is due to the large amount of gold being converted to currency to serve the Dictatorship needs. The needs for cash is not only to start a war but also to buy damage through Combat Stash to win or defend the nation. Ofcourse the fact that many packs like IK are available has also been the reason for this change of value.

Gold is being bought in a very large rate. People buy a lot of gold for RL money, Plato is becoming richer by the moment. All to serve for the need of winning a Dictatorship.

The sad fact is, its not only in large countries with many people with stark differences that are affected. Even in small countries like India, this has become a Major issue. We actually have spent more than 50% of our entire savings on various issues after this module was brought. First we had to defend an attempt by some Pakistanis to take over India. Then we had to install our own Dictator to make sure Pakistanis dont attack again. Then, when Determination bonus began to grow, we had to start a revolution and take down the dictator and again get another dictator through another war.
Think of it, 8lakh Rupees has been spent on this, and plenty more(probably 4~6 lakh) to buy damage to win/defend. Now, this 14 lakh math is only about official spending, many citizens have spent tons more, perhaps totalling enough to 4 or 5 lakhs in the process. This is a 2 million Rupees issue in India alone. And India is like one of the smallest among the 70+ countries in eRepublik.

The big fault in the module was, you need not be a citizen of a country to be able to attempt a Take Over there, you just need to be the commander of any MU there and can buy damage from anywhere around the world. So, people started attacking other countries to take over. This means not only more cash spent on making a Dictator war but also much more in defending and buying damage.

All this adds to Plato’s piggybank, which by now has atleast become another Central Bank. But when you enjoy all this, there is something that you have to note; the newbies. They come in to this game and are the soul reasons why this game exists. If only the old, rich players play, the game can’t go on, just because there wont be employees, customers or even a “society” in a real life game. How silly would that be?

Newbies used to come in and enjoy their Division one and then go on a two click to be strong to face the next division. But even during their two click, they were in the game, alive thanks to Politics and the community. People took active part in parties and had serious discussions, campaigning and competitions. Political fights have also taken place, but those were the times of maximum activity here. Even if there was no much politics, since Governing was a group activity and the leaders are answerable to the people who voted for them, there was always a cabinet group of 10~15 people who took care of governance. The Cabinet was supported by the Congress of 30 members or so who also helped in various ways by suggestions and in implementations. And then the wider public was connected through a stream of articles, both applauding and criticizing functioning governments and public meetings like the #LokSabha (as in India’s case) were also conducted now and then to get people involved.

Since this new module came about, Activity is close to zero, because there is nothing known to talk about. Its all how the dictators want it.

There was lots of activity in the media and inside countries as there were 15 members in cabinet each with different charges. But all of it has died. When a newbie today comes in, all he sees is “Buy Food, Buy Weapons, Fight, Buy Food again, Fight more, Cash is empty, Now Die”. He neither has any reason to stay and 2 click hoping for a great future (reason in my last article 😃) nor does he see anything to get involved in. The Government is a one or two person issue nowadays.
Ofcourse, not all dictators are actually greedy ones. In case of many countries like India, Dictators are set by the people of that country alone inorder to make sure no other country takes over. This is the reason why we have Pizzarayne and I would say Pizzarayne and our CP Bholenath are doing well.

But the situation in all countries is not so great. When Plato went in search of more euroes implementing as much new features as there are possible to get cash from, we were losing a great game. A game that valued economy as much as politics. A game where the wars and differences inside were as important as that outside. A game where everyone was involved and of some value, whether or not he is strong or weak, rich or poor.
Currently, to be of some value, you either have to be super strong or super rich. Because human power is no longer required. All that counts is cash and damage. But, when democracy prevailed, it was not so, since each of your votes were of value the next time.

The Society is dying. This Dictatorshitp might seem awesome now, but this is killing the game slowly. Plato has actually infected the society with a slow disease. While Plato hopes to play the Hospital and get as much as possible from the situation, he is forgetting that it is at the end his own game that is going to be destroyed.
We need to end Dictatorship module. Let us have democracy. If people want, let them become great citizens, live by an example and be strong politically, and win a Poll. Make the leaders accountable for their actions. Make everyone equal. Newbies also deserve chances !

Since this new module came, see the differences: People buying a lot of gold and trying to become Dictators and others making large armies with lots of golds (I don’t see one place where these armies have been really successful) to liberate conquered areas. In short, eRepublik has become an Army’s game ! Only military is being valued. Economy and Political Modules have been completely destroyed.

The Game is at a risk. It is vital that we understand that Plato introduces all these features to only better himself. You must know that however great you be with your Euros, one day with no Newbies or the “Players” (as opposed to buyers) , you too won’t have a value.

One may agree to that all other issues with the game are “natural” but, without doubt, Things like Dictatorship module, that affects the very base of the eRepublik Society, must be abolished as it attacks the root basis of the society; Democracy itself!

Dictators, (and people aiming that post) think about what you are actually doing. Ruling over a large mass? Or Being ruled over by the greatest Dictator: Plato Himself !

Bad Grammar, Not as good as before ? I guessed so too, Seems like luck is a one time wonder  I would always try to better myself ofcourse 

Before stopping the article, 8th anniversary is just around the corner. A message was sent by Plato to everyone in eRepublik through email about a week ago. I am sure most of you might have already known about it, but for those who haven’t yet noticed it, Go to you email (whichever one you used to register your game account) and find a mail from eRepublik (it might be in Promotions or Spam Folder) and claim your award. I got a Big Bomb (5,000,000 damage worth bomb).

* Everything is from my personal point of view.
* I know of the many dictators who are installed at the democratic wish of the people of the nation (this includes you Pizza bro). This article is not aimed at you, you must be called protectors of the last bits of democracy in this game 
* I do not criticize any of the Dictators either. You just used an “option” available in a game. There is no mistake in that. The article is just to Plato to ask to take that option out of the game!
* Not intended to hurt anyone.
