"Samurai Flamenco" Anime TV Trailer

While it's only 15 seconds long, the new promo for Samurai Flamenco has the distinction of being the first look at animation from this season's homage to tokusatsu heroes.

Durarara!'s Takahiro Omori directs the anime about a male model turned superhero and the intersection between crime fighting and the entertainment biz, with Uta no Prince-sama's Chinatsu Kurahana doing original character designs, adapted by Yoshimitsu Yamashita. Oreimo's Hideyuki Kurata is on script composition.

SPYAIR performs the opening, while in-anime idol group Mineral Miracle Muse does the ending.

Aniplex describes it:

Masayoshi Hazama: a man who has become a superhero “by himself” with no superhuman powers or any sort of high-tech conversions, NONE!! Hidenori Goto: a cop who found out the true identity of “the superhero” by a strange twist of fate and thus constantly gets in trouble thanks to Hazama, the superhero. This is the story of the birth of a true hero featuring these two young men with a touch of comedy and serious drama, while they come face to face with hardships as they search for the true meaning of becoming a hero of justice in this world!

Working Title of "Oreimo" Creators' Next Light Novel Rumored

Chatter on Japanese Twitter and blogs, as well as what's claimed to be a Dengeki Bunko release listing, has Tsukasa Fushimi and Hiro Kanzaki, author and illustrator on the original Oreimo light novels, reuniting on a new work, tentatively titled "Eromanga Sensei."

Reportedly set to premiere December 10th, the story would cover familiar ground of a high school guy struggling to get along with his younger sister.

Miku and Madoka Get Throw Back Redesigns For Karaoke Event

The 24-Hour Endurance 1,000 Anime Song Medley karaoke marathon has a nearly 20 year old legacy dating back to the Japanese SF convention RYUCON of 1994. This year, you didn't have to make it to Shinjiku Loft Plus One to appreciate the awesome promo art by parody @keiichisennsei (Keiichi Tanaka of ComiPro! fame), featuring modern favorites drawn in the style of legendary manga authors like Osamu Tezuka and Leiji Matsumoto.

Mainstays of 1,000 song no-stop events include "Anison Baka Ichidai" ("An Anison-Crazy Lifetime") author Keisaku Kimura, manga artist Kazushi Hinoki, and repeat guest Isao Taira of "Fukkatsu no Ideon" and "Galaxy Cyclone Braiger" and MIQ of "Aura Battler Dunbine" and "Heavy Metal L-Gaim.

This year's started with Azumanga Daioh's "Soramimi Cake" before hitting favorites from Lucky Star, Haruhi and Digimon, they wandering into the depth of anison from there.

Pokémon "Never Gonna Leave You" Parody Creeps on Pikachu

Is it okay to creep on Pikachu in public? I'm sure Ash means well in the latest Pokémon Parody music video from Lorenzo Adams and friends. In all seriousness it's a cute little take on the video for "Never Gonna Leave You," originally by Us.

I wonder what Pikachu was shopping for anyway...

"Strider" Blazes Through an Action-Packed NYCC Trailer

I'm torn on Strider. On one hand, developer Double Helix (Silent Hill: Homecoming, the upcoming Killer Instinct) doesn't exactly have a stellar track record. On the other… Strider! So speedy and cool, just look at him go in the NYCC trailer below!

DECO*27's Latest Hatsune Miku Song "AIKOTOBAⅡ"

DECO*27, no doubt one of the most popular Japanese vocaloid song creators, posted a promotional video for his latest Hatsune Miku song "AIKOTOBAⅡ"on YouTube and Nico Nico Douga on October 8. As the title shows, the song is a new version of his representative song in 2009, "Aikotoba," which has been viewed more than 1 million times on Nico Nico Douga. And October 8 was the day he posted his first vocaloid song video "Boku Mitaina Kimi, Kimi Mitaina Boku." on Nico Nico Douga in 2008. How do you like this new "Aikotoba" song?
