New Strike Witches The World Witches Art Book

An artbook dedicated to the World Witches spinoffs of Noboru Yamaguchi's Strike Witches series is up for preorder (http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/4041106001/0takomu_001-22/ref=nosim/).

The World Witches book is a collection of the World Witches articles that currently run in Nyantype, COMPTIQ, and Comp-Ace magazines. The book is the first collection by Strike Witches original creator and character designer Humikane Shimada's super-popular World Witches series. It includes extensive data on the witches throughout the world who protect the future of mankind, and info on the current war situation of each nation.

The cover has brand new artwork. Kadokawa Shoten will release the book on March 25. Kadokawa will also release the Artworks of Strike Witches book on March 25 with all the art work Shimada has drawn for the Strike Witches franchise so far.

Takeshi Nogami launched the Strike Witches: The Witches of Africa (Strike Witches: Africa no Majo) in Compatiq in 2011, followed by Strike Witches: Tiger in Desert. Other World Witch stories include World Witches: Witches of the Sphinx and Sengoku Witches: The Witch of Honnō-ji.

Shimada is currently supervising a Strike Witches spinoff manga in Nyantype.

Demon Gaze PS VIta Dungeon RPG Gets Manga Series

Artist Kurono will launch a manga adaptation of Kadokawa Games and Experience's PS Vita fantasy dungeon role-playing game Demon Gaze in the December issue of Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine on October 26. The current issue of the magazine published a preview of the manga, which will include contributions by Kein Kawabe. The manga will introduce new characters and its own interpretation of the storyline.

The game follows a boy named Oz, who has no memories but has a magical and powerful eye that he can use to command half-mechanical demons. The game features a character-creator system, and available jobs include fighter, paladin, assassin, samurai, ranger, wizard, and healer. En Okishiji (oxijiyen) and Teshi Kurosawa created the game's character designs.

Kadokawa Games released the RPG in Japan in January, and NIS America announced at Anime Expo that it will release the game in North America and Europe in early 2014.

Happy Birthday to Madoka!

Despite all the bonus material that has come along with the movies, Madoka Magica's titular heroine is still the only of the series magical girls' to have an official birth date. She only has one because, as witer Gen Urobuchi tweeted, he chose October 3 to correspond with the the day that the ‘Mahou Shoujo Apocalypse Madoka☆Magica Project’ document was created.

Still, it's a good excuse to celebrate anime's favorite divinity.
