Attack on Titan's WIT Studio Animates Hōzuki no Reitetsu

A Tokyo stage event for the television anime adaptation of Natsumi Eguchi's Hōzuki no Reitetsu supernatural manga announced the main staff on Saturday. The dark comedy revolves around the fierce god aide to the Great King Yama, Hōzuki. Calm and super-sadistic, he tries to resolve problems that often occur in Hell.

Hiro Kaburaki (Kimi ni Todoke, My Little Monster) is directing the series (and its dialogue recording) at Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Hal) with Norihiro Naganuma (Kimi ni Todoke, My Little Monster) as assistant director. Midori Gotou (Loups=Garous - The Motion Picture, Guilty Crown) is in charge of the series scripts and setting, while Hirotaka Katō (Hal) is serving as character designer and chief animation director. TOMISIRO (Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne) is composing music with Starchild Records, and Sound Team Don Juan is producing the sound.

A group of the series' main cast members known as Jigoku no Sata All Stars (Hell's Affairs All Stars) will perform the opening theme song, and Sumire Uesaka (voice of Peach Maki) will sing the ending theme song.

Second Season of "Gatchaman Crowds" Confirmed

So far there's just an announcement and a small Berg Katze teaser on NTV's website, but a second season of unique superhero anime Gatchaman Crowds has been confirmed, with the title "Gatchaman Crowds Second."

Staff, schedule and other information are expected at a later date.

Crunchyroll to Digitally Distribute Kodansha Manga

Ok, take a breath. This is a big one. Japan’s Nikkei Business Daily has reported that Kodansha has found a partner to simulpub some of their current manga titles, and that partner is…Crunchyroll!

Starting Wednesday, October 30, Crunchyroll will begin digital distribution of twelve (12) Kodansha manga titles via a new service called "Crunchyroll Manga", including Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail, and Space Brothers, offering content to 170 countries, including the USA and UK, on the same day as release in Japan.

**Free users, and non-manga members will only be able to read the latest chapters with ads until the next chapter is simulpubbed. Manga members will have access to all manga including catalog titles. Crunchyoll Manga is included free with a Crunchyroll All-Access membership.**

Folks will be able to legally read the latest manga on Crunchyroll on their desktop/laptop computers, as well as iOS and Android devices.

We know that’s not all the info, but expect all the facts to be revealed when Crunchyroll Manga officially launches on 10/30. In the meantime, this should keep you counting the hours and minutes even more: the complete list of Kodansha manga titles that you’ll be able to read soon on Crunchyroll!

Kadokawa Anime Festival Karaoke Mixes New Series and Favorites

Karaoke no Tetsujin has kicked off its latest Kadokawa Anime Festival with a massive playlist of anime song, mixing favorites like Haruhi and Lucky Star with this season's Yu-Sibu and Noucome, decorated anime rooms and theme drinks.

The promotion runs to December 15th with a special lottery for promoting your visit on Twitter.

Blink and You Might Miss "Pulp Fiction" Cameo in "Kill La Kill"

So much for the theory that Kill La Kill won't have any pop culture references newer than 1987. "Dawn of a Miserable Morning" blew it out of the water with its inclusion of a stream of Pulp Fiction cameos in the midst of episode 4's dizzying slapstick.
