Eiichiro Oda Hospitalized, "One Piece" Manga Goes on 2-Week Hiatus

Fans of high profile shonen manga are no strangers to hiatuses on their favorite series, but One Piece is entering a slightly extended delay due to illness. As announced on the official Shonen Jump website, author Eiichiro Oda has been hospitalized, and the series will be absent from the magazine for two weeks.

Oda is in the hospital with a peritonsillar abscess, a complication that stems from a tonsillitis infection. While he recovers, One Piece will miss the Shonen Jump issues that ship on May 27 and June 3, with the series expected to return to action on June 10.
