Andy Millward for Spectrum PP =]

Day 936, 05:17 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Andy Millward
Third Time Lucky!

Okay, so. First time I ran for PP, I ran as a joke. Second time, I was thwarted by a certain disappearing act. This time, I hope I can finally take the place at the head of the Round Table of Spectrum (yay for contradictions) and help turn this party around. Time for a good, old fashioned election. Now, my manifesto contains new ideas AND old ideas- However, interesting policies and programs are all well and good, but at the present time I feel the most important thing needed is to get this party back on track, gaining members instead of losing them.

UPDATE: It has come to my attention that a large amount of members wish for the party to be branded back into the RFA. Should I become PP, I will begin discussions to determine whether that is what the party REALLY wants.

The Forum Spectrum

The Party Cabinet

Unfortunately, RRS' method of running the party through a series of 'Teams' didn't work so well. We had the teams, yes, but nothing much really got done. I think this is probably due mostly to a fair amount of apathy within the party- I hope to turn that on its head.
My approach to the structure of the cabinet will be slightly different this time. Whilst individuals will be picked out to help oversee various aspects, I'd prefer to run a party where everyone can contribute to everything. In that sense, I will be inviting anyone and everyone to write an article for the party paper, to suggest party policy, and PMing campaigns.
As I said, there are a few people I would like to invite to take up particular roles. RRS, if he accepts it, will be our tech guy, and GGRyan (again, if he accepts) will be my VPP.

More Mods!

Yes, that's right. I will be appointing new moderators for the party forums, as well as the party group in order to give more people the ability to accept people into the usergroup. That way, we can show new recruits that we are pro-active, and appreciate them choosing us as their political party.

Commons Discussion and Representation

One thing I would like to introduce to the party forums is regular discussions on important things being discussed and voted on in the Commons. One such example would be the Judiciary System. What I'd like to happen is the party to come together and discuss the system- Do we need it? Do we WANT it? What could be improved? Not only would this help develop a firmer party stance on things, but it may also allow us to come with proposals as a party, which our congressmen could then put to the Commons and hopefully get put into place. A stronger party presence in the Government is never a bad thing.

The Ingame Spectrum

The Party Paper

Since the rebrand into Spectrum, it seems to me that our party newspaper has faded away, almost into non-existence. I would like to catapult it back into the media scene- media domination is key to gaining members, and I feel I have a slight amount of experience in media domination (remember the 26-04-10 ad campaign?). I will ensure that every single party member is messaged with a link to the newspaper, explaining why they should subscribe and read the articles, as well as inviting them to try out article writing skills of their own (with a prize should their article be chosen for publishing).

Getting the Non-Forum Members Involved

Whilst RRS did a pretty spiffy job of getting people onto the forum, I feel the forum side of Spectrum needs to connect more to the Non-Forum side. I'd like to do this by regularly informing the party members of things that are happening on the forums, and on some issues, allowing them to participate through 'Liaisons'. Of course, incentives will be offered to those who join the forums, in the form of party gifting and what-not, but I don't want to see the party cut-off from itself. I'd also like to introduce (with the help of RRS) party referendums, available to every party member (however, in order to avoid vote rigging, said members will have had to have been with us for a period of time).

The 'Other Stuff' Spectrum

Congress - Working for Your Chance.

This is a policy from my last PP run, I still plan on introducing it, so here it is again:

I am of the opinion that a inactive Congressman is a worthless congressman. As such, if I am elected, anyone who wishes to run for congress with the official support of the Party must either be part of the Party Cabinet, House of Lords, or working for one of the Ministries as an Apprentice or Underminister. However, I also understand the need to run at least 1 candidate in every region- Applicants who are working for the Party or a Ministry will receive priority in both where they wish to run and also are more likely to receive funding for adverts. Not only will this ensure that only candidates who either WANT to make a difference or CAN make a difference already get into congress, but it also helps develop any newer hopefuls we may come across into future Ministers.

A Transparent and Visible Party President

I want to be as public a PP as I can. In that respect, I will be inviting every party member , forum and non-forum, to conduct an interview with myself at least once during my term. Everyone interested will be put into a list, and using a random number generator, once person will be chosen. That person can then ask me ANY questions they like, as standard or as sensationalist as they like. Said interview will then be professionally formatted by the more code-savvy members, and published in the interviewer's paper. I will then seek to get the article voted into the top 5, providing a platform for subs to the lucky person's paper. A few days afterwards, the article will be re-published in the Party Paper.

I'd also like to see:

-Regular messaging campaign aimed at new and unaffliated players - JvB's first set of criteria deemed to be quite successful, so I'd like these to be repeated on a weekly basis, at least.
-Regular Party Articles for every election, propaganda, and the ideas I've detailed above.

Summary

Well there we are. I hope enjoyed reading my manifesto- Here's a summary of what I hope to achieve:

-260+ In-Game Members
-5+ Congressmen (All active in either a Ministry or The Party Cabinet)
