Andy Costello: He wants to be your President!

With the conclusion of congressional elections, I have decided to announce my intention to run for the office of President of the United States. Congratulations to all new and returning eUS congressmen on winning your elections and best of luck in your coming term! Here is my presentation for what my administration will try to accomplish in the coming month. I'm still on the search for a VP to complete the ticket, if you are interested in that, or have any questions about my platform or in general shoot me a PM and I'll be sure to respond.

Military
This game revolves around war, which is used to obtain resource regions, stimulates purchasing to help the economy, increases citizen retention, and makes this game fun 😃. If I am elected, I plan to ensure that the US will always be involved in some sort of military campaign. As an officer in the United States Training Corps, I know how boring training wars can be in the boring period before the next exciting battle or campaign to come along. I will also, to the best of my ability, ensure that, every day, there will be a non-training-war battle for us to fight in. I have many different ideas for campaigns that the US could partake in the next month, and, if I am elected, I will ensure that the US will promptly start a major military campaign to make up for this past month of relative monotony.

Economy:
The United State's economy is currently falling out of control. The introduction of Lana has caused a gaping hole in our economy where significant amounts of gold leave the system every day. The effects of Lana have only begun to be shown recently. As I said before, I believe that an extended military campaign will have the greatest positive impact on our economy. The increases in spending on weapons (especially those of higher quality), gifts, and moving tickets associated with deployment and with wars will help American Businesses get back on their feet. Additionally, I believe that import taxes should be marginally raised until we find a stable working percentage so that our American businesses will have an advantage in our own economy. Finally, I believe that we should experiment with embargoes to determine whether they will help with the massive surpluses we have recently had (embargoes would, of course, be limited to countries that are considered enemies of the US).

Retention:
I believe that the best way to get new players to stick around is to get them involved as quickly as possible (no kidding 😛) in programs so they can realize how fun this game can be. I pledge to continue support for the USA Welcoming Committee and the US Mentor Program. Personally, I have always thought that the military is the best way to get young citizens involved, as it is what got me, where I am currently a 2nd Lt in the USTC, to stick around in this game. However, I know that militias and other programs run by private groups and individuals also do a great job, and in my administration, these will continue to receive support from the government.

Foreign Relations:
As a fervent EDEN supporter, I believe that we need to renew our MPPs with some of our allies in lieu of region swapping. Our forces have been divided by this and it has been taken advantage of by Phoenix. Under my administration, the Brolliance will be as strong as it always has been. We will always be there to help our Canadian brothers, just as they will all be there for us!

As serious as this game is, we cannot forget that this is just a game and that we are here to have fun! I promise that, as your president, I will do everything I can to make the next month as enjoyable for all Americans as possible.
