And we're starting again..

Day 1,552, 10:01 Published in Belgium Belgium by Cooke4444
The road cycling season is upon us. Next week the first races in Belgium start again.

What to expect this season? Well first you should be prepared as there are lots of new teams like Greenedge, Omega-Pharma Quickstep and Lotto-Belisol. An improvement seems lots of the new shirts, who are quite nice. But now the real sport side:

- Cavendish gets more resistance in sprints

World champion Cavendish better be well prepared this season. Greipel seems a lot stronger, Boonen starts to get in mass sprints again and Kittel seems the new talent of the moment. Altough his Team Sky is build around him, he misses some locomotives like Renshaw who went to Rabobank. As usual, we will have to wait until the tour de France to see who is the best sprinter.

- Classic races are closing in

Milan-San Remo is one of the objectives for Gilbert this year. With the entrance of Le Manie, the race is more challenging and a breakaway has more chances to round it of. The first big classic race of the season is not a lottery, as many say. It is one of the most thrilling races of the season. The tour of Flanders is renewed. 3 times the Oude Kwaremont and the Paterberg. The loss of the Muur van Geraardsbergen is the main concern here. Wait and see, but as the E3-price Harelbeke is now a WorldTour race, the Muur has still some potential. The course of Paris-Roubaix is not fully decided yet. The forest of Wallers is maybe not in this years race. The hilly classics are once again preferred by Gilbert. The Amstel Gold Race will be very interesting, as it's almost the same track as the world championships.

- Giro is for humans this year

As usual some very hard mountains again. At least less than last year, which was way too hard. This was shown in the death of Wouter Weylandt, who died in a downhill last year. The start of the Giro will take place in Denmark. After three days riding, the peloton transfers to Italy. A real tour of Italy once more...

- Tour de France

The tour starts in Liège for a relatively unexperienced tour. More unknown climbs make the race hard to predict. The amount of TT-kilometres are not in favor of the Schleck brothers, but Evans and Wiggins heard this announcement probably with delight.
