An Introduction to.... The Forums and IRC!

Day 1,917, 22:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Bohemond4

Dear readers,

Today I release my first of a series called 'An Introduction to' in which we take a look at various aspects of the game. First up we will be covering the Forums and the IRC

The Forums are pretty much what they state on the label. They are forums designed to facilitate discussion, whether it is on public issues or private issues for your party or Military Unit. Forums can be found here

After reaching the Forums you will need to register in order to post and gain access to private parts of the forums. That said, if you just wish to read the public discussions you need not register. (registration is found in the top right corner)

This is the general section where ambassadors come, people post links to their newspapers and we discuss erepublik stuff that is non-governmental, such as how much the economy sucks, new features and currently how Alexander Solari should be the next Miss eUK.

After negotiating the general stuff you come to the government forums where all parties aim to convince us the other parties are foolish and generally all succeed admirably. If you are a member of Congress or the government you have access to various degrees of private forums here that deal with sensitive issues, you see more the more important you are.

Following on from there we have the private forums, such as for your Military Unity, your party, your forum games and the like. This is where several parties discuss policies and keep a record of their past discussions.

Finally, we have the Spam central and off topic zone where those who like to spam or not discuss erep descend, quite rapidly, into madness.

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It is what we, here in erepublik, use for instant messaging and is one of the best tools for building up our community and making friends, to reach the IRC you head this way.

Most parties and Military Units as well as the government use IRC in order to live chat with each other. The link above leads directly to the eUK chatroom for all eUK citizens and some foriegners. When you first enter IRC, you must choose your username so we can all see who you are. Use your ingame name in order to be rapidly recognised. Once you choose your name, remember to register is so as to save your nickname and so you can be added to private channels. As you can see, I have chosen my name to be my nickname.

Once inside, you will see this. And be welcomed by the eUK community! (just read the arrows and you will be fine!)

Having negotiated the forums and IRC, you have made your entry into the next stage of erepublik into the areas where a lot of the game happens, where friendships are formed and where we all get to know one another.

Thank you for reading, I encourage you if you are not yet on IRC or the Forums, join us and take your experience to the next level.
