An Interview with a Jr. Officer and Writer

Day 1,835, 19:42 Published in USA USA by seeker1
Lt George Griffin, a regular writer for this newspaper, was kind enough to take time to answer a few questions about his experiences as an Airborne member and as a writer. Thanks George!

How long have you been in the Airborne? Why did you join?

I have been in the Airborne for about three months now. I joined really because I heard of how great the community inside was and how great the leaders are. I've always been a huge military guy, inside and outside of the game and this branch really fits me well.

What keeps you here?

Again, the people we have in this branch are amazing. You can get on the IRC and be professional about your job and still have fun. I have also stayed due to being rewarded for all my hard work. After three months I'm already the PCO of the 101/2nd Division. This branch is everything I need and more...

What interesting or unusual experiences have you had in the Airborne?

Nothing really crazy that made me feel like it was unusual. Most interesting is an everyday thing. I have met so many new people due to this branch and that's always interesting.

You have been a writer for the Airborne Newspaper for a couple of months. You were the only rank-and-file soldier to agree to help us on that (although you have since been promoted). I asked several people. What do you find rewarding about that job?

Great question... Writing in this game is so unique. You can jot down ideas and plans and share it with the world to see. I find it so awesome to write for the eAirborne because it feels like we have so many supporters outside of this branch that want to see us grow and maintain momentum. I write for the joy of peoples reading pleasures. I've always loved to write and now I can write for the branch I love dearly. You just can't ask for anything better then what I'm sitting on now.

What would you say to encourage other AB members to write for the AB newspaper?

Honestly, try it. When you came to me and asked me if I felt like I could write for this branch, I really wanted to say no. My real life and elife is really hectic. I'm ALWAYS on the go. But I decided to say yes and see how it went. I've always been the guy to go with the flow. And ever since I said yes, I've loved it. So I guess just go out there and try hard and if it isn't for you, it isn't for you. But like I said, try it and maybe you'll find something you really want to stick with in this branch.

Would you like to say anything else?

For anyone reading, I can honestly say that our community within is just amazing. Our leadership is awesome and we are very organized. I promise if you come to the Airborne we will treat you right. Our IRC is always going and is active. So many great people, just come join us!

What do you think of the Airborne in general? Is there anything you would say to someone who is thinking about applying?

Like I said above, really take what I've said and see how much I have changed. This branch is so amazing. I'm a very picky guy when it comes to branches. Airborne is so organized and so well run it will blow your mind. Our forum is amazing and has all the information and daily orders. We will treat you right.

Thanks for having me Seeker! I really enjoyed this and hope people got some good information out of this. Also, AB has the best BBQ in town! Thank you!

And thank you George. It's good to hear our members' views of our branch--especially when those views are so enthusiastic!
