An article that shouldn't be written...

Day 1,640, 00:48 Published in Belgium Belgium by Cooke4444
I really wasn't planning on writing all this, but the current situations in eBelgium among active citizens kinda forced me to.

The last few days (mostly on forum) set me to think about eBelgium, and maybe more importantly, the social relations within eBelgium.

I see in almost every congressional debate, a debate about the person who proposed something, not on the proposal itself. This happens at the moment multiple times. It even makes me reading the debates as a moderator, not as a congressman. This is why I'm considering to keep out of congress and/or governement next term, so I don't feel forced to read every debate, as I want to do my "job" properly. As I see it at this moment, the only reason why I should go for congress is for the 5G. This is the wrong motivation and it makes me sad even to consider this. This is nothing final, but I'm just saying this isn't the way I would like to continue.

People don't seem to understand the use of a PM. At very different debates, I see things that easily could have been solved in a conversation in PM or a private chat on IRC. Instead of first asking why a person has a statement or why (s)he voted a certain way to the person him(her)self, topics get started on forum, just to bash other people for their beliefs.

Another thing I see is the lack of criticism. Yes, there is opposition on proposals, but what is this opposition? It consists out of insults, false accusations and random rants. Criticism has to be positive. I mean with that, that it should help the person to "let him/her grow", not to "shoot" him/her down. People DO make mistakes sometimes. I see now people who only see the bad things in each other. Some people seem to have a hard time with being balanced in their actions. I hope these people see that they are in a vicious circle. By challenging another person, it doesn't make your own image go up. The insults etc. only gets worse. Some people then see no way out of this, apart from abusing powers (congressional, governemental, mod, admin, SC and even citizen powers, like starting topics). This is just a round-up of "powers", not that there is abuse in every way.

Yet another thing is the "word of the moment" elitist. I don't want to go point fingers, this is just my own experience. Since I joined eRep, I've always felt welcome. When I joined the forum, I took the time of discovering all topics and debates. I have never felt that "older" people looked down on me or forced me to vote/debate in their favor, or that they were creating their own little group of people who managed everything. If everyone just keeps debating in a civil way, not changing facts etc. I hope this "elite" thing can be forgotten.

This also made me think about my future on eRep. If things keep going like this, I feel myself forced to become a 2-clicker. This was never in my mind, but if this should happen, I skip the 2-clicking and just announce myself as "dead". To all people: please don't take it this far that I have to do this.

I hope this made EVERYONE think about their actions etc.
I felt really bad to put this in "The fun side", but the current situation forced me to.
