An Appeal to the all of the EDEN Community [EN]

Hello, dear readers of the The Global Moustache

First of all, I do have to say... These are interesting days we are living in!. Some of you can remember me acting as an Assistant Public Relations at EDEN.HQ. And after a period of mere days, after the resignation of my friend and mentor Wallachian.... I, a nobody, had become Interim Public Relations for the Voice of EDEN.

I remember that my first article as Interim PR turned out to be rather controversial, as I had expected. I could apologize for it, but that would be hypocritical from my part, since I do not disagree with any line that I wrote back then. I meant every single word.
I truly believe that everyone deserves a second chance (eTurkey is certainly no exception) and, yes, send me to hell for this, but I am positive that only together can we move forward!



And lately, I caught myself thinking about this situation... analysing it thoroughly. There have been strong voices against the entrance of Turkey into EDEN, particularly from Bulgarians.There have also been those that see this entrance as something that will be beneficial to us all.
I would like to make an appeal to every single member of EDEN. I am not talking to any nation, but rather to every single player that reads this...regardless of he/she agrees with Turkey joining or not. Please, think hard on this matter.

Do you agree that Turkey should join?
Do you believe they should be allowed to skip GEA?
Can both EDEN and Turkey benefit from all of this?
Will this affect our Brotherhood?

I remember reading once a quote by Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius: “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” Bearing these words, I have also decided to ask of you something dangerous: think for yourselves. Do not act in conformity to an article that you have read in the press. Do not act in conformity to what your leaders think. Respect but do not conform to your neighbours’ opinion. And above all, do not conform to mindless hate. Remember that a man should not be a slave to anything... and this includes your own will being shackled to personal hatreds.



This is an important step everyone should take. But before doing this, please think hard on that quote again. “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” So, forget such concepts such as “facts” or “truths”. They are no more than “perspectives” and “opinions”. There is no “white” nor “black”, only “gray”.

With this in mind, find your own perspective on this and voice it, regardless if people agree or not. Discuss it with your governments, discuss it with the HQ, discuss it with your countrymen, discuss it with those who think differently. Remember that in EDEN, everyone has the right to their own opinions. That has never changed. It takes just one veto to ensure that a country has no place in. Be fair though. Consider not only yours, but also a Turkish and Greco/Bulgarian point of view, as long as you do not conform to it. As I said, nobody is the holder of the absolute truth on this issue. Nobody is evil here. The HQ has been working, following what they believe in and the Turkish are doing their utmost to show that they can get along with everyone.

This plea to think for yourselves, does not mean that you have to disregard the bonds that unite the members of this Brotherhood. No, on the contrary. Learn from them as you learn everyday not only from your mentors, but also from everyone around you. And this also includes your enemies. I would like to give you my point of view on some recent events. For example, in the recent past I have watched our enemies quest for union and comradship. It was announced over all of their media that they were united for a single cause.
Was it the truth?



No, they could not learn from their mistakes. Despite these lies which were devoured by every country like grass being eaten by sheep, they have remained divided as ever. This can be easily seen by the amount of Iranian, British and Slovenian shouts asking why the integrity of their countries was ignored by the rest of their “alliance”. There are even strong and frequent voices in Iran right now, regretting their membership in ONE... an “alliance” that has quickly become a Serbian/Polish club. We must watch and learn why our enemies have failed and do our best so that their selfishness and narcissism dies with them.

Please brothers, think for yourselves about the path you are willing to take. Don't be bossed around. Do not become like them.


Finally, one last message. I was told something by my father some days ago. It was a quote from an author, whose name he had forgotten. "Be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.”
Bearing these words in mind, I have resigned from EDEN HQ. Thank you for this experience and I wish best of luck to the rest of the HQ members, both in game and in real life.
