An Apology to All I Labeled “Rats” and “Traitors”

A lot of heated exchanges are going on right now. I took part in them. Here's me stepping back a bit...taking a breather...

To the “Rats”
I believe I offended a couple people (or more) when I said that the first one off a sinking boat are the rats. That was partly intended as a “tough love” approach to guilt-tripping people into not leaving eCanada during a rather dysfunctional period, especially when facing a Swedish invasion. The other part was because it irked me to see people leave who had put a lot of work into this ‘eCanada’ group (dare call it a team?) who had rather good strength and in-game rank, which we could really use right now. Some of which skill development may have been funded for an emergency period like this.

Saying “Rat” may have equated you with those like “Maedoc” and “Julius Caligula” who took what was not theirs and then fled to a safer place where they could restart. I’m sorry if I somehow implied that those leaving of you eCanada recently are equivalent to these types of players. This is not so. Things are messy and people are free to vote with their feet, even if some of us wish it were not so.

To the “Traitors”
This one is harder to sort out. Leaving the country because you want to have a break or find greener pastures in an allied country is one thing, but taking up arms in Sweden seems to be another. There’s a lot of “Traitor” namecalling being tossed around. That does make sense to me.

Yet, there are still those whom I respect that sympathize with the ‘method to the madness’ of Rylde et. al. Etemenanki, olivermellors, and Chucky Norris all said something to the same effect that Rylde is still a patriot, just one that can’t stand the current conditions of eCanada. I’m not sure I can believe all that but there are far too many in the middle or on his side to simply label the whole lot “Traitors.” There’s more going on than that easy label.

I don’t see how what you are doing is productive, but I apologize to you all anyway. Seems like you have a hate on for us because of something we all di😛
