Derzeit muss sich der schwer arbeitende Kongress sich mit gleich zwei Vorschlägen befassen: Ein Amtsenthebungsverfahren gegen unsern frisch gewählten Präsidenten A.Emmerich und eine Erhöhung der Importsteuer auf Waffen von 30% auf 35%. Als alter Boykoteur habe ich bei beidem mit "Nein" abgestimmt.

Grundproblem bei beiden Gesetzesvorschlägen ist die fehlende Kommunikation zuvor. Nur Überweisungen an die Austrian Central Bank sind üblicherweise Selbstläufer, ebenso Allianzen (wobei man manchmal schon darüber diskutieren kann, wie kürzlich dargelegt). Für alles andere ist ein Gespräch über das Ziel eines Gesetzes und die Realisierbarkeit desselben schon wichtig.
Das Amtsenthebungsverfahren entstand wohl aus Enttäuschung über den engen Wahlausgang und der daraus folgenden Hoffnung, dass es Erfolg haben könnte. Es wird allerdings von keiner Partei unterstützt, auch nicht von der Austrian Socialist Movement, die mit Vreath den knapp unterlegenen Kandidaten stellte. Falls das Gesetz angenommen würde, wäre er der neue Präsident.
Die Importsteuererhöhung auf Waffen ist sicherlich diskussionswürdig. Der Kaufbot rechnet ja (soweit ich weiß) bei importierten Waren die Importsteuer zu seinem üblichen Kaufpreis dazu, um dann den Maximalpreis zu bekommen, zu dem er tatsächlich kauft. Importeure hätten demnach keinerlei Nachteil an einer Importsteuererhöhung und der Staat hätte mehr Einnahmen. Ob das allerdings wirklich so ist, ob das auch alle Importeure wissen und ob eine Importsteuererhöhung auch davon unabhängig gut ist, das können wir nur in einer Diskussion herausfinden.

Update:
Es liegt nun auch ein Vorschlag für eine Allianz mit Südkorea vor. Dabei gibt es das selbe Problem wie mit der vorigen Allianz mit dem Iran: Es ist derzeit nicht auf der Karte. Ich habe trotzdem mit "Ja" abgestimmt, weil ich mich zu spät erkundigt habe.

Currently the hard-working Congress has to vote on two law proposals: An Impeachment against our freshly elected president A.Emmerich and an increase of the import tax on weapons from 30% to 35%. Being the old naysayer that I am, I voted against both proposals.

The basic problem with both law proposals is the missing prior communication. Only money transferals to the Austrian Central Bank and alliances (although one should argue about some of them, as I recently expounded) are usually accepted without discussion. For everything else, a proper debate about the goal of the law and the possibility of fulfilling it is very important.
The impeachment was probably started out of disappointment about the narrow result of the presidential election and the resulting hope of it being successful. No party is supporting it however, including the Austrian Socialist Movement of the narrowly defeated candidate Vreath. If the law was accepted, he would be the new president.
Increasing the import tax on weapons is certainly worthy of discussion. The buying-bot (as far as I know) adds the the import tax to his usual buying price to get the maximum price at which he buys imported weapons. Importers would therefore have no disadvantage and the state could earn more. But if this really is the case, if all the importers know this and if an increase of the import tax is good either way, we can only find out in a discussion.

Update:
There is another law proposal that would create an alliance with South Korea. Like Iran before, they're currently not on the map. I voted "Yes" though because I informed myself too late.
