Currently as citizens we are being encouraged to vote eRepublik up on some Game Rating sites, which I wholeheartedly support; but two things need to occur: rank high on the right sites and offer new citizens help in understanding this world we call eRepublik. As mentioned in The Tin Hat, America has many great opportunities for free help and although they have been a great help to me, it is my opinion that most of these are not actually free and that you must be this or that to receive this 'free help'; IMO the taxes now being used to support the USAF should instead be used for the establishment of an apolitical American Military Academy (AMA) using Easy Company's Military Fitness Academy as it's model.
America, Easy Company, We The People; only then do you think of self….
Currently Americans who are not members of a Military Unit (MU) may take advantage of Bank Up 2 Strengthen Up, a program which encourages New Citizens to build their strength before leveling up to upper Divisions; this program has been a great help to me and I encourage new citizens to take advantage of this great program. BU2SU also encourages citizens to be active on their MU and Party feeds, forums and IRC channels; all of which I also encourage. Along with the many programs mentioned in The Tin Hat the aid I receive from Easy Company's Military Fitness Academy and the BU2SU enabled me to upgrade to a level 4 Training Center and to a level 2 Climbing Center during the recent Training Centers sales.

This is the kind of help New Citizens to America need, they need concrete help they can see on screen; they need to be able to see their strength and experience building while NOT FIGHTING IN A WAR GAME. These same programs have also helped me capture two (2) Battle Hero medals worth 4 gold total, once again something concrete they can see on the screen; kind of like my daughter and her instant gratification addiction. My belief is that an American Military Academy would not only benefit America, it could be used to train citizens from allied countries; give a soldier supplies he will be loyal for a day, teach a soldier how to earn his supplies and he will be loyal forever.
American Military Academy ~Start a Revolution
My call for the formation of the AMA is not going out only to the Government, they would simply build an elephant when a mouse would work just fine; this goes out to every Private Military Unit (PMU) in America along with every American Political Party (APP). IMO it is time to admit that the United States Armed Forces (USAF) has failed, out of six or seven MUs only one -Special Forces- are a Top 5 MU; of the remaining slots every one of them is a PMU. MO is that the budget used to support the USAF should be withdrawn totally, it should be switched to support the AMA with weapons, food and gold to train soldiers for enlistment into PMUs I support using the MFA as a model because of the existence of a cloned public program -BU2SU- using that model, and due to the fact several other MUs have such programs based on the MFA; if it works for Easy Company -the best MU in America- it will work for all of America.

First for America
Let me make it clear that I am not asking to dissolve the USAF as a group of MUs, I simply want them to become Private MUs; also access to the AMA would not be withheld from their soldiers....

Reform would be good, but I don't think eliminating the USAF completely is the way to go. The start of an apoolitical military fitness academy would bee a great idea though, the success of EZC's AMA is clear, #1 in kills every week since the weekly leaderboards went up and the only MU to be in the top three for both categories every week and the only MU to hold first place in both, let alone at the same time.

On that note of USAF, I must chime in being a former CO. USAF MUs are not in the T5 much like how the JCS Militia was not in the T5 till they merged their branches under 1 MU. Military Units such as EZC understand that it's useful to have multiple divisions in 1 MU. USAF has 1 division per MU, at best.
D1~ FT
D2~ AF
D3~ RS
D3/D4~ UM
D4~ SF
To utilize the full potential of USAF and fully assess its worth, the lower branches would have to be under 1 roof. Flight Training and AF, at least, should be put under 1 roof. Current AF FT Leadership is talking on this goal, with the DoD still evaluating the implications et al.
Also, effective leadership is being administered and ties are being made now much better than before. USAF is on the upswing, overall. The crew has a lot of rubbish to sort through before everything becomes proper again, though.
It would be a great improvement if they simply went with D1 through D3 in Rogue Squadron and D4 in Special Forces, however I am in favor of all divisions being transferred to SF....
The UM RS deal is eh. Both branches know it's weird. All Officers know it's weird. But no one is making moves on how to make it make more sensical. The branches are caught up in their own runnings, so unless the Exec itself says "Hey, maybe do this and it'll help both of you" (This being a 1-roof agreement or full on merger, or closeness measures such as joint Officer Rooms and a database for splitting up the recruits fairly), we're left with this weird situation.
Keep in mind too; RS works hard and UM is very opinionated. The SoD can attest to both of these. These two will not talk on their own on ending the weird situation, mostly because merger would be brought up and possibly done. And, sharing power? Dear god. No one gives up what control they have easily, even to their own benefit. Let alone the overworked or opinionated.
Not that a merger must happen. But in the least, certain outlines need to be made. RS needs to have x actives, UM needs to have x actives, they get AF's guys as a result of this. UM got most of AF's people for the sheer reason that they were easier to reach and extremely vocal.
For a technical point, want to clarify that FT cannot join another MU, due to the transitional time the 1 roof intiative would take. To explain, other MUs get soldiers in a very regimented, documented process. We can afford to recruit them 3 days after the fact or change the proccess a bit; These are trained people, they'll live.
FT has untrained newbs filter in daily, meaning that they can't tell them to move to another MU and reasonably expect them to listen/stay alive. If someone can't understand the fight system, I can't reasonably expect to throw them under bureaucracy.
But yeah. A Mega-USAF would be pretty cool. But as someone from the inside, I never tried to embrace the ideals. Baby steps are the only way to get anything done with something this large with this much baggage.
The problems mentioned have not only kept the USAF from achieving greatness it has fragmented the damage America can deliver to the field. While the UM shoots it's mouth off and does just enough to keep funding rolling in, RS fights it's ass off; yet both services receive support....

I hope that discussion of FT merging with AF goes better then it did previously 😉
But anyway, like Hale26 there are a lot of problems with the plan including FT being an open MU unlike all other USAF MU's
