Alex Lawrence for London MP!!

Day 851, 00:43 Published in United Kingdom USA by Alex Lawrence
To the United Kingdom and the People of London,

In stark contrast to the past few months, this past term has been fairly uneventful. With peace being signed and V2 coming up, the Commons has been taking measures to refill our reserves after the war with the US and passing new taxes to revitalize the economy. It is hoped that these taxes will encourage business and increase demand for goods. These tax reductions were exactly what I was endorsing in my previous manifesto, and am very happy with the changes.

Aside from this, I'll take this opportunity to again encourage citizens to move to London, especially now that it is the only Q5 hospital in the nation, and with the new hospital rules implemented (you can only regain wellness lost in battle), it is critical that you now buy higher quality food and houses in order to keep wellness up.

Other than that, nothing else has happened of any real note. Which is a good thing, considering we only had one region a short while ago. A reprieve from direct attack is always a plus.

Major items to push this coming term

--With taxes being lowered, I do not intend to push for markedly lower taxes this term. Perhaps a few more points lower within a month's time in a few areas, but it is best not to switch from extreme taxation to no income at all. I will support current or slightly lower tax levels.

--Military operations have been very successful the past few weeks, with Croatia failing to construct its land bridge, and France and Germany taking many of their regions back. Since I haven't been in the military for quite a while now, I will refrain from lecturing the generals. I will continue supporting the use of our gold to help our allies beat back the Spanish and Polish empires. I would also like to see more operations to challenge EDEN control of East Asia, but these things will come with time.

Peace is cool, man.

Opinion on Current Situation-Wrap Up

I am happy that we are now in a state of peace, not just because our regions are not occupied by a foreign power, but also because we will be able to focus all our attention on economic growth and the possibility of V2 coming out in the near future (I speculate it will come out within the next 3 months). This also gives our military the flexibility to fight where it thinks is best, and fight over regions that have real economic value (Liaoning, possibly Karnataka?). I look forward to seeing how our economy reacts to these changes and additional changes that may be made during the next term.

I promise to continue to remain active and help our economy and foreign policy along the right path. I hope I can count on your support this upcoming election!
