AIP: Moving Forward

Day 564, 15:29 Published in Australia Australia by Melchizedek Smith

After many months of hard work and devotion to the ethos of the AIP, today marks a sad day in our colourful history. Xavier Griffith our founder and father has hung his boots in dismay as the flame wars rage. On this very same day our current Party President StewartB has decided that it is time to establish his own party where he can better lead according to the policies and issues that he deems most important. I'm sure all can agree that both of these men have played a great role in establishing the party that we see today and have earned our admiration and respect.

Today, however, is the beginning of a new chapter in eRepublik history. Tim09 has just taken the reigns as eAustralia's new Prime Minister and has promised that our nation will move forward. In the midst of this change I believe it is time that the AIP reevaluated its current position. For all the good that both Xavier Griffith and StewartB have done for the AIP I believe we have slowly strayed from the core foundations upon which we were once built. Established to "keep the bastards honest" the AIP has been struggling in maintaining that position and I believe that this is the time to get back to basics.

Today I'm posting this message to elicit a response from those that remain embittered or dismayed by the current state of eAustralian politics. My desire is to, with the party's support, run for Party President and establish an AIP that will truly "keep the bastards honest". Though we may differ in our values or ideals, the thing that should unite us is our desire to be heard and to ensure that every citizen of eAustralia is represented no matter what their position. My hope is that we can rebuild the AIP not as a party but rather a platform upon which the minority can rise and be seen.

So please if you feel that this is the way forward for the AIP and for eAustralia then show your support. If not, I'm more than happy to hear your thoughts.

Melchizedek Smith,
AIP Queensland Senator
