Ahh...Wellness

Day 579, 13:34 Published in Philippines Philippines by Nikko_33

Here’s my take on Wellness, as I see lots of ePinoys (especially the new players) who have low Wellness Points or WP.

eRepublik’s Official Wiki says: “Wellness can be seen as the health of your character. When your wellness becomes 0, your eRepublik citizen dies… Wellness will improve easier at low levels and harder at high levels.” It’s represented by that man/woman figure right below the flag under your avatar- the higher it is, the better your health (max 100 WP).

Being the “health” of your citizen, you should take good care of it and aim to maintain it at high levels. Why? So you’d be more valuable as an employee and as a soldier.

Your WP affects your Productivity as a worker. The higher your WP, the more you produce. And the more you produce, the cheaper the product becomes, ideally lowering its price in the market. This way, you’ve helped the company and the economy as well. If your employer is nice, you might even get higher than the standard pay if you work consistently at high WP (80+).

When fighting, your WP significantly affects your Damage as a soldier: the higher it is, the more damage you inflict. This then speeds up your rise in the military rankings.

Wellness indeed is very important in this game. Ironically, it is easy to raise & maintain it during wartime, not like in the real world. Here, it is trickier to manage your WP during peace time (as we are in ePhilippines right now). Your citizen’s loss or gain of wellness is influenced by the following factors: working, training, fighting, hospitals, gifts, food, housing, and moving.

LOSING WELLNESS

1.) WORKING – You have to work every day to earn money. If you do so for 30 straight days, you’d earn a Hardworker Medal and a 5-gold reward. However, you lose WP based on the “Quality” [Q] of the company you work for: Q1= (-1WP), Q2= (-2WP), Q3= (-3WP). So to those who are just starting out, stick to the Q1 companies.

2.) TRAINING – You lose 1 WP every time you train. It is essential to train every day as strength takes time to build up, so do not skip training. Besides, feels awesome when you receive that Super Soldier medal (Strength = 5.0), hehe.

3.) FIGHTING – You lose 10 WP every time you “fight”. You can fight as many times as you want as long as your WP is above 40. Additionally, you gain 2 exp per fight, and your military ranking rises based on the damage you did.

4.) MOVING – You lose or gain WP when you move, based on the Quality of the moving ticket that you use😛
Q1 = (-2WP)
Q2 = (-1WP)
Q3= (+0WP)
Q4 = (+1WP)
Q5 = (+2WP)

5.) NO FOOD IN INVENTORY – You lose WP when a day passes and you have no food in your inventory, meaning you did not “consume” any food for that day. The loss depends on your current WP:
1WP – 10WP = (-1WP)
11WP – 50WP = (-2WP)
51WP – 80WP = (-3WP)
81WP – 100WP = (-4WP)

GAINING WELLNESS

1.) FOOD – As against to having none, keeping food in your inventory will gain you WP: the higher the Quality, the greater the boost. Aside from the Q of the food you have, the amount gained depends on your current WP. If you have high WP, the gain is less than that of a low WP citizen. Example: a Q1 food will give 0.60 WP to someone with a 90 WP, while a 50 WP citizen will gain 1WP.

2.) HOUSE – A house is a major investment, but it’s worth it in the long run. It boosts your WP at roughly the same Quality as your house. A Q3 house would give you around 3WP per day. So obviously, the higher Q, the better. Your house also adds bonus to the amount of WP you gain through food. However, you won’t receive any gain from your house if your inventory does not have food.

3.) GIFTS –One way of earning instant WP is by receiving gifts. Buying it off the market, or receiving it through donation would not give you WP. Instead, someone has to “offer” it to you, so it’s important to have a gifting buddy, whom you could regularly exchange gifts with. The amount of WP gained will depend on the Quality of the gift: Q1= (+1WP), Q2= (+2WP), …Q5= (+5WP). Remember that a citizen could receive a maximum of just 10 WP per day through gifts.

4.) HOSPITALS – You could also gain instant wellness in a hospital if you have fought at least once that day, and you currently reside in the region where the hospital is located. The amount of wellness gained will depend on the Quality of the hospital (10 WP for every Q). So a Q5 hospital could give you 50 instant WP, while a Q3 hospital will give 30. Take note that you could “heal” just once per eRep day.

5.) WELLNESS BOXES – Instant WP being sold by the admin. 2 gold per 10-WP pack: too expensive, let’s not discuss it anymore…hehe.

Generally, the easiest and cheapest way to gain and maintain high wellness is to fight in wars and heal in a Q5 hospital. This way, you could fight till your WP is at 40+, heal for 50 WP, then work & train at 90+ WP.

But seeing that our young country is not involved in any wars, and we have no Q5 hospitals yet, the best way to manage your WP is to buy the highest quality food you can afford, find a gifting buddy, save up for a decent house and avoid the higher Q’s companies unless you can afford to.

It may seem a lot of work in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it’ll be a piece of cake. Just keep at it, and you will get well.
