Africa! What to Do With the Expanding Continent

Day 1,704, 16:37 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

America this, Balkans that. Sure, Europe and the Americas are hotspots for war, but don't neglect Africa! The fledgeling continent is very lackluster at the present, with only Egypt and South Africa representing the landmass. But things won't always be like this. Indeed, Africa will become richer in the future, with more nations to interact with. And when the time comes, existing nations will need to take Africa much more seriously.

Now, first off, when Africa expands, which way will it expand? While any form of development would be an improvement, the most likely move would be to add the northern strip of nations most populated and developed in real life. It would include Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. Unlike most of central Africa, these nations are, for the most part, relatively advanced and stable. These nations would also give new depth to strategy.

Currently, the CAS, which was formed by the Arab states introduced a while back, has been mostly unprotected, and has since been taken over by TEDEN forces, most prominently Cyprus and Greece. While the oil provinces have been very helpful in funding the nations' efforts to sustain themselves, with more nations to deal with in the future, it may be wise to find an ally in Africa.

Of course, as there are no governments for nations that don't exist, it is pointless to speculate too much. But seeking friendship with the new areas in northeast Africa would be a wise move. Not only would it help secure African colonies, it would also help put some pressure on opposing forces in the Mediterranean, particularly Spain. While not all nations would be friendly, it would be foolish to attempt to conquer everything in Africa by force. It's not as if that ever happened before.

In this time of great despair and struggle, we must constantly find new allies to befriend, both established nations and infants waiting for their chance at glory. That is why when Africa goes west, we must capitalize and gain a friend or two.

Until next time, take care!
