Bugga.. i was planning on entertaining Lany for a night with some South Australian red wine, a delicious home cooked meal and a soothing conversation full of intrigue and mystery as a means of thanking her.. i guess she will return to her own party now and i will have to go back to staring at stolen polaroids of a naked Gaugature posing on the beach in a mankini whilst i sit and polish my golf clubs.. ah such is life, so harsh and cruel sometimes 🙁

OK, let me get this right. A multi was spotted (regardless of what admin had to say at the time). Some steps are in order.

There are 40 seats up for election. It would be hubris of the highest order to expect 20 seats going to any one party. On recent elections I'd say more than 10 seats to any one party is unlikely, although the ADP has a bigger membership lead than they have recently had.

It would be reasonable to conclude that anyone at 15 or below on the senate list is not going to be elected. That's 37.5% of the vote - not gonna happen unless you know something I don't know.

So, explain to me the drive to get 21 people on the ticket, to force this multi off the list? There's a logical inconsistency.

And, failing all of that and in the face of a concerted effort by a zombie army, there is absolutely no reason why this one multi would have to be added to any sort of government discussion.

Right, as a Democratic party would it be right for us to leave a congressmen off the government discussion if they accepted the friend request and said they want in?

Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. I gave figures that it would be highly unlikely that we would get sufficient seats even at 20 people but I still advised JT to block till it was entirely safe.

I like the fact that Lany was the only person to stand up and answer the call it just shows what type of community we have currently when most choose to just pick out anything small that will get themselves the attention

I never even heard there was a call for warm bodies with a weak pulse. FFS, I'd have been happy to sit at #19 on the ADP list and resign if somehow I ended up elected. It's not an indictment on the community at all, just lines of communication.

As a democratic party it's not right for you to stack a list to exclude a willing candidate. What's the difference to deliberately excluding them? The end result is the same, only the means differ.

Of course you would be happy to sit at #19, you don't want anything to do with congress currently. ADP also has plenty of blockers that were willing to sit at the lower end to block and not make congress.

Deliberately excluding a multi account is part of the blocking used in the election process, Plato does not always ban multi accounts hence the blocking which you have been around long enough Ilene to know that it has been used in the past quite effectively.

Part of the game mechanics allows a PP to "stack" the candidates to suit the party requirements, it has nothing to do with being a Democratic party or not.

Game mechanics certainly allow a PP to block a suspected multi, or exclude people they don't like. I argue that exclusion by PP decree is less democratic than the new senate voting to exclude a clear multi account.

There is no tangent, other than both our last replies. I am trying to make the point that the response was out of all proportion to the issue. With 20 candidates, at least 5 were never going to make it. So why ask for more bodies?

Beyond a reasonable doubt is probably too tough a standard for a game.

A risk as low as reasonably practical, with a list of 15, is good enough given a fail safe fallback of deliberate exclusion.

Ilene your party president would of been informed, hence her leaving the party only a short term into her mandate to save Australiain the JT/Guag army from a lone multi account rather then send some of her political party members to the ADP.

And as a reward gets pole position in the ADP congress list because apparently no one in the ADP is good enough to head up their ballot

I am not too fussed where I am on the list Guagature, being in congress is not a big deal to me. Might as well leave room for inactive players or sideline coaches who comment but don't do anything
