Adding drama! |25.07.2015|

Day 2,804, 06:26 Published in Czech Republic Czech Republic by Thomas Gorzkiewski
Ah, the lovely sound of the summer rainstorm as the raindrops splash on my windows. A warm cup of tea in my hand, awaiting my slow and steady sipping shortly after it comes too cold and bitter to be drunk by anyone else. Finally, a time, mood and topic to write an article about two topics.

I'm quitting the Congress.
-Yes, I know it's the last day of the term.
-Yes, I gave 5 gold back to the treasury. Considering donating more.
-Yes, I'm using the activity spike to gain popularity.
-Yes, I'll moan the hell out of everything.

Now, as I'm a congressman no more, the language I use won't do any harm the prestige of the institution I was representing.

The Congress

We've screwed it up. As I lack the data to point out who else did, and I'm too lazy find out: I've screwed it up.

The in-game private message system serves the communication between all the 30 Czech congressmen. Technically. The congressman setting up the topic for the current is unable to send the initiating message to those who refuse the prior friendship request. This month was quite lucky: only Morfean and Marcin Owlinski were unable to join the official conversation. And one of them is permabanned, playing some role in the current drama that has recently sprouted.

Theoretically, I should inform what were the main subjects of the recent debates. However:
-I'm not a congressman anymore.
-It might do the harm to the national safety.
-It is quite uninteresting.
-The system itself is flawed and chaotic.

The problem is that I did little to nothing to change the last point. Besides, what exactly is flawed and chaotic?
-The junior members lack easy access to the Constitution.
-The votes aren't separated, what is hardly an issue right now, but cudos to fwdre for pointing this out.
-The votes are ongoing despite the fact the Dictator has already done the final decision.
-In fact, there is hardly a certainity on the Dictator, Goverment and Council decisions.
As I'm one of the senior members of Congress, I feel obliged to fix it. Especially that it wasn't that hard. I could create a Wiki page for such stuff. But I didn't do that. I simply was too lazy to do that.

At least that's what my Pa would say.

The Parties
Huzzah! The dictatorship system prevents from often successful political takeovers (even though no one should be both a dictator and a president at the time), therefore we can afford some political pluralism! Czech Social Democrats, welcome to the political scene! Except it became a thorn in some asses.

There were suggestions that as our population is tiny, it would be better to take one of the three ealier parties over. However, I need to remind the results of the last elections. The point is that all the parties are able to get own representatives, even if the Czech Right Union was dominating this July with a result of 56%. Therefore, I find it harming to eliminate any of those parties.

Now, I've mentioned CRU. That's the party I have joined shortly after I came back to Czech Republic after being tired of the political nonsense I was meeting elsewhere. Besides, there was a risk of a political takeover. So I've joined the right wing party that had active people back from 2008.

Right, so since [ur=http://www.erepublik.com/pl/article/antarctica-proposes-peace-7-11-2010--1565482/1/20]November 2010[/url] I'm sipping that lovely tea, doing my job, that is being overall pessimistic in all the Congress matters, and not doing the job like fixing the botched communication system. Thanks to that, I mostly avoid all the Czech drama, which usually sealed behind the door of private messages or videocommunication. Not like being active in that would be helpful, considering the fact I don't comprehend spoken Czech.

Now, why I mention that? Well, I don't like the drama I don't participate in. And as I was representing the Czech Right Union this term (but it's doubtful I'll do that in the future), I was dragged into 2 days ago. Well, if that was ment to be a political advertisement, it was quite... badly executed.

According to John_White those congressmen had the possibility to debate:
Czech Right Union - Janty F, Memeber of MayDay, BaskB, Verccetineo, czechoslovakia1938, Vladislav Baloun, yggd4sil, martin6868cz, Ivan Blok37, Simon Novak, rewap, FutureMillennium, Jankhos, Red Duck, Thomas Gorzkiewski, SMOKExCZx
Czech Social Democrats - John_White, Rathena Gelc
Národní Garda - fwdre, Michalov z Moravy, petracs, Coudovo, Bootcha
Svobodné Česko - Qw1n, MrPedro

Out of them, those did participate in the votings and discussions:
Czech Right Union - Janty F, Memeber of MayDay, BaskB, Verccetineo, Ivan Blok37, Future Millennium, Jankhos, Red Duck, Thomas Gorzkiewski, SMOKExCZx
Czech Social Democrats - John_White, Rathena Gelc
Národní Garda - fwdre, Michalov z Moravy, Coudovo, Bootcha
Svobodné Česko - ???

Conclusions? Claiming that any of the congressmembers listed above were inactive is a plain slander.
Even the author of the aforementioned article and a leader of the opposing party believes they should've worded it otherwise. Just as writing articles, the electoral choices should be based on reason, not emotions.

Vote on the Czech Right Union! Vote on the third-to-last candidate!

PS: Before you ask, I already have told I wrote it to promote myself. And for own amusement. 😛
