I first joined eRepublik in late June of 2008. Roby_pretric, a Croatian immigrant to the US had recently won the USWP party president election, becoming the leader of the fledgling USWP, and I entered his administration as communications director. The Party supported my efforts to become mayor of Olympia, Washington, while eRepublik still had a mayor feature. The early days of the USWP saw it being dominated by Roby and his small group of close advisers. He briefly stepped down as president, ceding a brief term to Peter Green who failed to generate the same kind of leadership. Roby returned to the post, and the USWP eventually became a top 5 party. By August, under Petric's leadership, the USWP had become the 2nd largest party in the eUS. Peregrine succeeded Petric as party president and led the USWP to cement itself as the largest party in the eUS. During Peregrine's administration, the Executive Board was created, which played a major role in USWP administration throughout my time on eRepublik before going inactive. I am amazed to see the USWP still going strong. I wonder if its early history is widely known. The Wiki has extensive articles on it.
