A talk with: Yanisin - The person behind CPresidency...

Day 3,055, 09:43 Published in Norway Norway by Zinitus

We've seen him often in official contexts over the past month, whether it is in political debates, on State visits abroad, or on occation of the re-opening of Parliament. We shall ask him some political questions, but also who he is behind the facade, when the spotligths is off? Northern Ligth want`s to find out! Let`s have A Talk With: Yanisin, the person behind the Cpresidency...!

Northern Light(NL): First of all, Yanisin: Tell us a little about your self, both in RL and in erep life.

In real life, I am 46 year old norwegian and I live in Drøbak. I have been lucky and have been able to travel a lot in my life and have been in a huge number of countries. This has probably taught me most about how to meet other peoples and cultures and in game I feel I am able to relate to and build friendship with people regardless of their origin.

To me there's no country like Norway and there's no eCountry like eNorway. My love for Norway is what originally gave me the passion to do what I do for eNorway. We really are a bunch of very nice, fine and honest people here in eNorway and I am proud to be one of you.

I don't play a role and I am myself in the game. I think people appreciate honesty and I feel it is hard to be honest when you play a character.

Drøbak - Yanisin`s home town

NL: Tell us the story behind your avatar. (Stewie in Family guy)

Well, sometimes I ask myself if Stewie is an imitation of me. I can relate a lot to Stewie even if I don't have his ambiguous sexuality and tendency to violence. In game I have a habit of expressing my wishes and beliefs with clips from Family Guy, and even did so when I announced my CP candidacy and gave my promise to the people via a song by Stewie.

I feel I can never change avatar. It describes me very well.

NL: We know you as a avid fan of eRepublik, what fascinates you most about this game?

It's true, eRepublik really fascinates me. Or let me rephrase: The eRepublik community fascinates me. I ask myself many times how all these fine people find the strength to continue to stay in a game that treats them so bad.

The game itself suck in so many levels so my answer is that it must be true what Bonte said in his last article that erepublik's community are way more intelligent than most other game communities.

eRepublik really started to interested me when I started thinking to my self how I could help making their eLife better. We all know by now that the game probably won't change much. I have lost hope that there will be new and revolutionary ideas brought into the game. What we have now is probably more or less what we will have for the rest of our eLife.

Yet I see people don't want to quit and I don't want to quit. What I want to do in this game is to revive the social module. To me it's the most promising of all the modules in the game.

This is also the reason why I am always searching for true unique people in this game.

The CPresident wants true unique people

NL: In few days you have turned your first term as CPresident, how has that month been, contrary your expectations you had before your election?

I am realistic and pragmatic and I didn't have any hopes or goals for the period. It's a lot about seeing opportunities that suddenly occure and to do the best with what's presented. I didn't even gave promises to our citizens and didn't presented a list of goals, other than that I would try my best to fix this country.

The period has been a blast though.

We have a functioning congress now, that is the greatest achievement in the period. Plus that we now have PM lists to inform all our citizens about what's happening in eNorway.

I do get a lot of messages from people that are satisfied with what I have done and I really appreciate their recognition.

NL: You seek a new term as CP, what will be your main goals for that period….

Yes I seek for a new period and I have said many times that I will need a lot of periods to fix all our problems.

There is so much to do here so, hopefully, I might be seated as CP for a while.

As I said I don't have official goals. Giving too many promises and goals is the wrong way to rule a country, because people will only be disappointed. I can't really promise anything, I am totally dependent of support from all of you people that are willing to help me.

If you do, then I can promise that I will give my best so that we together will have a much better country than we currently have. I have a lot of dreams in my head for how this country could be with some care and love.

As I said I am really interested in developing the social module and to let people be themselves in this game.

In Heimevernet we have a powerful slogan: Doing what is needed to protect eNorway. Everywhere. Always. I want that idea like an inspiration for all Norwegians.

How do we achieve that? We must be engaged in reviving our community. Socially, we must be connected somehow. That’s why I would like to see much more activity in the media.

We must remember that media and newspapers are the corner stone in every society, both in real life and in game.

If people have any ideas I want them to know they can talk to me and I will help them as much as I can, so don't be shy guys.

NL: ….and this is perhaps the first time eNorway has a “Presidental Couple”?

Yes, I feel like the luckiest man in the world to have Clorofila by my side. She is a very smart and wonderful person with a warm heart and she is really genuinely interested in creating a better eWorld together with me.

I am very happy to have her here and I feel we together can achieve whatever we want to achieve. What we are focusing on is improving the eWorld.

It has warmed my heart to see how well recieved she has been in eNorway.

The President and The First Lady

NL: In the last weeks you have started your own newspaper The Oise, where your articles mostly are expressed through music poems and song texts. Tell us why you choose to express yourself this way?

- The Oise - was never meant to be a newspaper like the other one. I want to have other people writing in it, and use it to collect voices from around the world.

I express myself a lot via music and poems so doing it the same way in - The Oise - only feels natural to me.

I have many ideas on how to evolve - The Oise - to be a unique newspaper in eRepublik.

NL: And finally the last question: We all would probably guess your favourit TV-programe, so instead I shall ask you an untraditional cultural question: What is your favourite book?

I learned to read when I was four years old and has been reading ever since. It's hard for me to say that I have one favourite amongst all the good books I have read.

What I do have though is a favourite author - Knut Hamsun.

One of the most famous novels of Norwegian Nobel Literature Prize Laureate, Knut Hamsun - a novel which also has inspired Mark Knopler to write the song "Telegraph Road", performed by Dire Straits
