A Sunshine Policy



Abraham Lincoln once said “Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?”



I feel now is the time for peace. Now is the time for making amends. I propose, not just for Taiwan’s future but also of Korea’s and Japan’s, to return to them all their legitimate regions. We need their help. Let us not be tempted with resource bonuses. Having people on our side is more important.

For those who disagree with my “let’s all just be friends” argument, I have reasons from another angle.

#1) USA wants to wipe us out. We were able to halt their advance. However, they are much stronger than us and, in the long-term, we will likely lose. The main reason why we were able to stop them last time is because of the damage and energy bar bonus offered by Plato and the willingness of some of our players to spend RL money. Perfect timing Plato!

Now we are back to square one, but this time, without the promotional offer by Plato. All things being equal, we are likely to lose ground. Now is the chance to change policy before it is too late.

#2) China and Brazil are likely to go to war with each other. They have natural enemy laws proposed. Brazil is ranked #1 in eRepublik; China will need all the help they can get. A war with USA, Korea, and Japan will likely lead to Taiwan, China, and EDEN disaster.

So here are my proposed steps:



Step 1: Governments from Taiwan, Japan, and Korea discuss and agree on the terms for peace and land rearranging.

*TEMPORARY LAND ARRANGMENT*

Because USA currently occupies Taiwan, a one-territory piece of land in Japan (I propose) will be rented to us until we can get our lands back.

We will sign mutual protection pacts (MPP’s) with both Japan and Korea as a sign of goodwill. Then, once the talking is done, it will be time for action.

Step 2: Liberate Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan



Once the MPP’s are signed and farewells are exchanged, we will open a resistance war in Taiwan; The Koreans and the Japanese will open theirs in their respective regions.

*Exception* Because the USA still has the intention to wipe us out for selfish reasons (food, weapon bonuses), we need to make a temporary agreement to stay on their (most likely eJapan) land for the time being. I suggest renting just a piece of Japanese territory or two in case we lose a RW until we can liberate Taiwan. Future friendship is worth it.

Step 3: Maintain the MPP’s until circumstances change

I actually hope circumstances don’t change. The most important allies a nation can have are regional and strong allies. I learned that with my experience in Israel. For our last liberation, it was only when Turkey and Greece were liberated were they able to get their regions back. We won the RW in Jerusalem a few days ago partially because Greece and Turkey is on the map.

So please, consider my proposal. Together, we can have a new dawn and this will be a happy ending.
