A new show is in town.
Miyagiyoda
Thank you to everyone who sent me personal messages about the elections. Some clarification is in order. I did not withdraw from the race. The Ministry of Security along with the party presidents met and created a shortlist of:
- Ejdatful (UP)
- Cody Caine (SAGP)
My name was added after the decision when they realised I had been in the race since the 26th. The decision to present Ejdatful as the ATO candidate stood.
I have no problem with the process or decision; since it is not mine. I am, however, disappointed that the Independent Alternative succombed to peer pressure without polling of its membership. This is not what IA is about. It is not how the stalwarts of free thinking and democracy do business. I hope IA return to what makes them so special in our political biome.
There is a new show in town. The stadium is emptier than ever before. The crowd is a little more cynical. I sincerely hope that the new administration manages to return enthusiasm to the masses. South Africa has many irons in the fire. The stage is set. Nothing stands in the way to make this a truly memorable month. Many opportunity are present to change views and win hearts.
Carpe diem, President Ejdatful.
Impress your many detractors and return South Africa to glory. I have faith that you can. Good luck.
Meanwhile, I'll be back breathing down your neck in June.
June is for Miyagiyoda's jaunt as President.
😉
Yours in truth.
TL
😉R Applications for my June cabinet are open to all who want to work for something new in South Africa. Glory hounds need not apply. We have work to do.

Constructive criticism is always welcome.
You'll win next time! 😉

If I had known about this, I would have fought tooth and nail for you, the IA way. However, I had no idea about this until Gambit posted the decision in the IA forum. We were not kept in the loop. It was a decision made above our heads without our inputs, and that I am not happy with. It sure as hell is not the IA way.
Anyway, congrats in advance to Ej for being our new CP. i hope to serve well in his cabinet. Be assured, I always give 110% for my country.
Dunno if I should say congrats or good luck, neither seem appropriate yet both are. If you are anti-PTO candidate then you are CP by default, if there is some competition from the multies, then i guess good luck would be in order.
Maybe if you had been more open to communication, instead of ignoring certain people. But no you wrote one vague article, then re-released it with a little more info, but still vague, and now this, which basically looks like a "they screwed me over" statement. As if you were the only person who had to give up on his run for the nation.
He actually indicated quite some time ago already that he was going to run for CP in May, so it was not new news at all.
Cody never said he didn't what we are griping about is Miyagi goes inactive for the last year and publishes 1 article about being CP, with no forum activity and then gets mad that he was unable to run?
This has nothing do with indication, he wrote a vague as all crap article, then disappeared or he is too stuck up to respond when someone PMs him. The fact is he only bothered to respond to Gambit when the deadline was in sight for endorsements.
That is not the level of communication I'd want out of a Country President.
I have hardly been inactive for the last year.
Tribune and Representative to NaN is a full time job. I was one of the 3 people who wrote the Charter. You also conveniently gloss over my MoD stint, advisory roles, daily foreign interaction (8 hours min online per day) and command in the eSAAF. But hey, waxing lyrical about existentialist crisis in your bromances is far more important.
I withdrew from Congress to begin a Brazil project to reinvigorate that dynamic. The real business does not need me to be a Congress member, and the personal attacks and ego trips are best ignored lest further animosity is bred in the community.
I am also hardly going to take communication criticism from the guy who invades a friend for lulz and conveniently forgets to tell the nation or the army. Your reign, your methods, your broken communication. My last run as CP left me with all goals achieved. A weekly update was a little quiet perhaps. Ineffective I leave to the loud-mouths.
And while we are dealing in hints, allegations, assumptions and blatant lies; I would also like to know which pm's I did not respond to. I actually pm'd all the party presidents with my platform of which 3 responded at all. Play your disinformation games elsewhere.
But let's take notes on activity from people who fight every other day yet have enough time to pick at everything.
Read this article as you may. I said what needed saying and will carry on with all that "inactivity" that isn't good enough for you.

IA president is little puppet of Grim. I am sorry for you, good luck next time.
Leona is everyones puppet and bia#ch
Miyagiyoda, as I said in your last article, you have the name, the positive attitude and everything needed to be CP, but 2 in-game articles doesn't show me you are active enough for the job. Maybe you do nothing but sit on IRC all day and talk to people, but that doesn't transcend to the public.
IMO that was one of the biggest problems with the Grimstone Presidency, and one of my greatest successes, was keeping the public informed. I had Presidency articles every few days updating those who don't go to the forums. I also retained my active-forum presence.
As of right now, Cody Caine has my backing, but if he drops off the map and you step up to the plate, then I'm ready to support you. But I need to see that you are active enough for the job.
Excuse me if I keep measuring activity by actual in-game activity instead of spam.

So to you campaigning is spam, communication is spam?
because that is what I get from you, your whole campaign seems to be "you know me, I've done stuff, vote for me" no substance.
A fact that every time I bring up, you just avoid.
2 articles spaced 9-days apart is considered in-game activity?
The lack of DOs for the eSAAF is proof enough of lack of activity
Its no substance if you believe I have no substance. Again, subjective judgment.
In-game activity is fighting battles (160 fights per day average), setting orders when there are no DO to pick from because our MPPs are limited, working in NaN as eSA Rep and Tribune, recruiting new players, maintaining QM sheets and Rosters for eSAAF, talking to foreign reps on IRC, building avatars, and a few other things. Sorry that helping revive the media is not on that list.
Reminds me I still need to get the SAGP newspaper logo sorted. Sorry, got distracted while I was sleeping.
Marmaduke IV, learn how the game mechanics work. You cannot set a DO if there is no MPP battle. While I fiddle the Auto Priority system as best I can, its unpredictable and often results in costly moves when we have no MPP battles available. Did I say MPP battles often enough to understand why there are no DO because of no MPP battles?
Miyagi indicated from the start that he was going to run, but the powers that were decided otherwise. He was the first to issue an article stating his intent, but because he did not bring out article after article praising himself, blowing his own trumpet like we are so used to see during election campaigns, it was decided that he was probably not serious and he , and then Cody for that matter had to stand back this term.
This should never be have been allowed, it is not democracy. Let the people vote how their hearts tell them to vote. Never let it be said that eSA has become a dictatorship, because this is what this election turned out to be.
I'd have no problem with Miya if he didn't seem to be anti communication, anti effort. How is anyone supposed to have faith in a person who can't even be bothered to respond to people who message him. Articles clearly mean nothing because EJ wrote one, which is sad, and pisses me off all the same. And that has nothing to do with blowing ones own horn, its a matter of a campaign, to show what you want to do, not just make bland statements and expect to win.
It's nothing against you, Cody, we all know you not to be a shy guy so the campaign you run, was expected, and it also showed who you are.
It's also not against anyone who blows their own horn and publish article after article, because that too, indicates who the candidate is, but I really have it against writing someone off just because he did not do what the other candidates did. I have it at being shunned by his own party, by other people who dictated how the election was going to be run. How we as a nation should vote.
Who messaged me Cody? Certainly not you. I also have no unread nor unanswered mail. Put fact to words.
While you may find my bland statements unpalatable, there is no way of knowing how truly terrible they are if a candidate cannot run. But that is even a gripe I have. Who runs is not for the candidates to determine; but the PP. My criticism was specific with very specific reasons given for it. Try read my words instead of those you think I wrote.
So you are going to lie now, because fact is I messaged you about possibly being VP, to you which you never could be bothered to respond, and if you say "prove it," well that will just prove you stuck up I believe you to be.
Also you are a hypocrite, for In an article of mine you questioned my desire for media with a basic "how do you plan to do that?" when I didn't clearly write a plan for it. Now what makes you a hypocrite is you go and write up a vague list of goals yourself.
I look forward to your BS denials
My question about the media was genuine. I am intrigued by people who promise to single-handedly revive something that requires community activity.
Yeah, sorry about the VP email. Couldn't reply, and by the time I could it was moot. My reply was, what do you expect the VP to do. Apparently that's a CRC attack or something.
I meant the Government Media mainly. Which I think I high lighted later on in that series.
I don't believe I asked the question later in the series. Settled?
You could have gone further into reading it, but sure settled.
This is a good setup for Caine Vs Yoda June 2013
The way this was done was not democratic as I had suggested. It was done behind closed doors. The current administration was hand picked by the previous one. What kind of aristocracy or monarchy is this?
There is nothing wrong with an ATO candidate in principal. What is very, very wrong is deciding it in committee instead of with a forum vote in which all certified South African citizens can elect their new leader.
It is never too late to hold a public poll.
Democracy. Accountability. Transparency.
Now DAT is a campaign I can get behind.
Miyagi, I have not attacked you and as I said, I know you do a lot behind the scenes. And that is great, if you want to be a great Cabinet member. But CPs can't act behind the scenes. I'm not going the route of Cody and saying that you HAVE an ego. But I will say that as long as you disregard everything that everyone else has done, as well as say "screw writing articles, forget the forums, all I need to do is fight and sit idly on IRC" you will come off as pretentious and it feels like you see yourself as better than everyone else.
If you want the truth, as to why you were left off the 2 candidate ballot, it's because you are forgettable. That nonsensical article was your first in 50 days. Sorry you were forgotten.
And yet here we are. Defending an undefendable decision. Why was there no forum poll for the ATO candidate? Surely I would have lost if what you say be true? Why do we fear democracy when it comes to security?
Would you have been satisfied with a forum poll with all 3 candidates? Why didn't you present one. By being upset by not being chosen to run, you don't seem like a champion for democracy, what you seem like is someone who is disconnected from what is going on in eSA...
Clearly your own party forgot that you were running or they would have made sure to include you.
As far as a forum poll goes, we, in eSA have a problem of running for CP at the last minute. Yes, you wrote an article that said you were running for CP, but then you disappeared so no one took it seriously. By the time the poll wouldn't ave been setup you would not have been included anyways.
If you know so much about the ongoings of eSA, then there should have been a poll, as you'd have seen that there's 3 candidates and on PTO candidate. As it is, you seem unaware of these and expect everyone else to perform these tasks for you... That sounds like a good CP to me...
For the record, I'm not putting this all on you. I disagree with the way this whole election was done, but when we are in a rush job, because people don't notice that we have 2-3 candidates running until 3 days before, there are some things that need sacrificed. In this election sadly it was democracy.
You call IA the "No BS" party, well here you are, starting BS. IA may be the "No BS" party, but ill I've ever seen them stand for is the "More bureaucracy party." You cry for democracy yet offer no election solution. Especially when the PTO candidate received 51 votes vs Grimstone. And no one knew who naroist was.
We needed to take a precaution, yet you disregard the forums, so could we have had a vote on there? Would that have been democratic enough? Until you start making useful points, go put a bagel in your mouth.
A forum vote is a perfectly acceptable solution to selecting an ATO candidate. Why was there no forum vote for ATO CP? It's not a new idea.
Ever think to involve even the National Assembly? I certainly haven't seen it mentioned in any National Assembly threads. The appointment was just unilaterally done by calling the PP's into a meeting. Did Congress even know? Screw democracy and the people who elect representatives - what do they know anyway? Why should they have any say in the leader they rally behind?
Regardless of how the ringmaster got the job, I will support Ejdatful as I have every other elected President. Politics are over until the next election and its time to get the show on the road. I encourage everyone to do the same.
Your beliefs about me are noted. Its hard to ignore the forums with an average post-count of 0.571 per day.
The points I make are generally well received. I don't understand the gist of your accusation. Is it that I should have made a point about something I did not know about or is it that I never have anything useful to say?
Could you explain "put a bagel in your mouth". It is phrase I am familiar with. Did you just make that up or does it a colourful colloquialism from some foreign clime?
Honestly, I was eating a bagel last night and wasn't in the mood to find an actual phrase, and then double-check to make sure it isn't legitimately offensive.
I think bagels are a Jewish thing
June it is. V.
