A look inside our top 5 parties!!! (part 1)

Hello America, today I will provide you with a very rare opportunity. I have accumulated interviews with the top 5 Party Presidents of America, providing you an opportunity to take a look inside your party. I will present these interviews in two parts because of there length.

Before I get started I would like to thank, Nicholas Ryan, Mellisa Rose, Athanaric, Haliman and Iasov.



The First Interview will be with Nicholas Ryan, the current party president of SEES.

What made you decide to run for party president?

When Walli said, ‘Oh, hey. You need to run for PP too.’

Where/How did you get started in eRepublik?

I was looking for an browser based version of ‘Civilization’ that I could play with other players and ran across this. I thought eRep looked really cool, because it’s the first time I saw an online game where the community really drove the game, rather than was just a sort of side-show to it.

Which player has been your biggest influence?

Emerick, largely because I’ve simply so much time with him. But I have kind of a crush on Krems, but sssh, don’t tell Em. Devon Donaldson, too. To be honest, though, I draw things from everyone around me constantly. I think it would be more accurate to say the eUS Forums are my greatest influence.

What do you like the most about your party?

S.E.E.S. isn’t afraid to be renegade and isn’t afraid to do things that other parties would view as being politically risky. We’re the bad kids, which is strange for me because I’m such a whiteknight in comparison but I guess that’s why it works. They raise hell and I make it look legitimate.

What is your parties strongest asset?

Definitely our ability to operate independent of ‘official’ party structure. In other parties, you do this or that because you have a job or the party says you should; in S.E.E.S. your job is to make Emericka at all times.

Why did you join your party in the first place?

I joined right after the chasm between Emerick and the Council of Elders became really public; the Council disolved S.E.E.S. and Emerick said ‘nuh uh’. I didn’t know really anything about the internal structure, but I did know that Emerick, Krems, Onishi, MSTA, DD, Chisholm, and Tom were all people who’s posts I always looked forward to reading on the forums. I decided either S.E.E.S. was a sinking ship I wanted to be on or it needed someone to put in the work.

What are some of the best memories you have had while being in your party?

Haha. Favorite memory, and this is classic; DD was looking for a replacement electionsnork and though I had *just* joined, I voulenteered and Krems was familiar enough to say I’d be a ‘goodish’ pick. I was picking up on the idea quick, so DD invited me to the IRC leadership channel and within a few minutes Onishi noticed and was absolutely livid.

I knew enough to just keep my mouth shut and let them hash it out, but I remeber Onishi saying the funniest g/d thing I’ve ever heard said about Onishi; ‘...and this isn’t “Oh, haha. Onishi hates everything.” I’m really pissed about this.’

What are some of the changes you have seen during your time in the party?

*sigh* Well, we lost a lot of my favorite people and we’ve really lacked direction since then, and a lot of that renegade spirit. There’s still stirrings of it, but there’s nothing for it to bond to. It’s rough to say that since you’ve joined and since you’ve really been in charge, nothing really positive has happened except for treading water exceptionally well, but that’s where I am.

Can you see yourself running for CP one day?

Expect it, fgts.

Do you think the five party system works? If you were admin what would you changed/what would you like to see changed about the political module?

You know, I really do. People complain about Democratic ideals, but the core of it is that the PP’s have the decision making power and are granted it by the people that vote for us; even if we did have drawn out discussions with all of our constituents over what we should do with the powers they granted us, we’d explain the logic and the majority of them would get behind us. That’s why they elected us, because we know what the snork we’re doing and have the time to do it.

I’d like to see longer terms for all the official offices. 30 days is really hardly long enough for a president to get the chair molded to their butt and not long enough to have really invested Kongresssnorks. As an electionsnork; having to dedicate that much time every 20 or so days to making sure everything goes off well is heinous. Literally, I have to take a couple days off after every Kongressional to hide because it’s so time-consuming and stressful. Seriously, it’s a nightmare and having so many regions is abso-snorking-lutely insane. Admin, stop hating on the eUS; break it down to regions.

I’d also like to see options in government and the ability to change government types by public referendum. And I’d like to see the ability to break-away regions and form new countries, maybe even as vassal states to their originals. Just to shake things up.

What made you decide to run for party president?

I wanted to make the party even better than it already was 🙂

Where/How did you get started in eRepublik?

Joined in Illinois, and voted for Joe Dasmoe the first time me thinks. Two clicked for a couple days, joined the USWP, and got relocated to Karnataka

Which player has been your biggest influence?

Tough question. Jude Connors and Fionia both got me interested in party politics. Fi and I argue pretty much everyday, but I look up to her. She is by the the biggest role model I have as a PP. Even if she is a butt 😛

Ligtreb has also been a huge influence. He’s a great person, and an even greater friend. I go to him whenever I need political advice outside of the PPship.

What do you like the most about your party?

I have no idea how to answer this. There are so many awesome things. I love the people in it.

What is your parties strongest asset?

We are organized, and are a force to be reckoned with. Not a day goes by where I don’t see a new face.

Why did you join your party in the first place?

Saw an ad back in March, and I thought it was pretty cool. I just stuck with it.

What are some of the changes you have seen during your time in the party?

Quite a few power changes. I’ve also seen many up and comers in politics rise. I’m so proud :’)

We’ll just have to wait and see 😉
