A Key Leader for the Keystone State

Day 620, 11:35 Published in USA Ireland by Jiosen

Greetings to all!
To those who are reading, I thank you for taking the time to read this new periodical of the many to be found in the eRepublik game. In my first article I wish to introduce myself and also inform my fellow eAmerican citizens of my intention to run for Congress in the state of Pennsylvania.

A bit about myself
I am a relatively new player. I have been a part of eRepublik for more than a month now and have been hard at work informing myself of the issues and learning game mechanics. I am currently proudly serving in the United States Home Guard and I am an active member and supporter of the United Independents Party, under which I am running for Congress. I am an amicable person who enjoys making friends and getting to learn of others through this game. It is my hope to learn and ultimately have fun in eRepublik. That said, I would not like to inform you of my platform considering my run for congress.

“Nowhere in this country, from sea to sea, does nature comfort us with such assurance of plenty, such rich and tranquil beauty as in those unsung, unpainted hills of Pennsylvania.” - Rebecca Harding Davis

Pennsylvania... the Keystone State. Indeed it is a beautiful land with much to offer our great United States. In these times of war focus has shifted from the US as a whole to just states as many of our beloved regions have been overtaken. I was a proud citizen of California before moving to Florida to help contribute to the war effort. I am still sad for the loss of my home state but it is why I have decided to run for congress as I feel that part of the war effort is not with physical fighting but also leadership and administration. This is what I wish to bring to Pennsylvania.

Economics - With the loss of Kansas our grain production has taken a massive hit and chances are we're going to start feeling this soon very soon. As Congressman I will do my best to keep prices from skyrocketing and look for ways to keep our businesses strong. Though we may be losing ground, I believe with some modifications we can keep a balance and still grow economically.

Education - The idea of The Department of Education and North American University are stellar ones which I intend to help keep running. I was a member of NAU prior to the war and I believe that this has much potential. I believe that knowledge is the key to a fun time on eRep.

Foreign Affairs - No peace with PEACE. Plain and simple. Sometimes one can choose his battles but not with PEACE. This is a group that claims to help but from what I see, they're hurting more than helping. I vote for standing up for our right to be our own nation here on eRep. In a more radical vein, I believe that we are ding poorly because of lack of unity. Ergo, I am for creating a strong alliance against the threat of PEACE GC. Not ATLANTIS, I mean someone new to stand against the tyranny of Hungary and Indonesia. Improved communications with our allies is a must!

Communication - Speaking of communication, as Congressman I will strive to make sure that you know what I'm up to at all times. There are times within an administration wherein we cannot divulge too much, and this is understandable, but no one said we need to follow blindly either. As such, through my newspaper I shall let you know of my voting decisions and how I feel concerning issues. Also, I seek to hear from you. I feel that often, once someone is voted in, they tend to forget about the voters. This is a group effort and your ideas may go a long way, so feel free to drop me a message and we'll do some chatting!

The Little Guy - As a relatively new player I know how hard it is to get started here on eRep and so I promise to dedicate as much time towards the helping of newcomers. Also, it's about you. That's right. You're voting me in and it's your voice I'm representing. I may feel a certain way but this is a democracy, not a Jiocracy, whatever you say is what Congress should consider and so my campaign is duly dedicated to each and every citizen.

And so, let's just have some fun! That's right. This may be a serious article, but ultimately this is a game and we should all be enjoying ourselves. I know that's a bit difficult while losing our regions, but even so, I know that our American spirit will endure and we'll show PEACE that we are the stronger ones. We are stronger not because of military might, nor because of how many people we have, but because we endure and we have fun. With this I close this first article and I thank you for your time and consideration! If there's anything I forgot to cover or questions you'd like to ask, please, respond or message me. And don't forget to vote the article!

Remember that PA needs a "key" leader!
