A History of The London Conflicts

Day 1,510, 18:05 Published in Poland United Kingdom by Mr. Katze

This is the best 3rd and 1st hand account of the military events that took place from February 2010 to December/January 2011/2012 that I could provide using knowledge acquired through eWiki and extremely old newspaper articles that probably haven't been read since their original posting more than a year ago.

This is an account of the 'Battle of Britain'.

Part I:

Our story begins in February 2010, during the struggle of War World IV, shortly after the eUK left EDEN for PHOENIX and was under retaliation attacks from the eUSA and eCanada. In response to the attacks, the eUK's president at the time, Dishmcds, announced a nation-wide retreat to London (At this time the game was VERY different, but it would take too much time and effort to explain how different it was, so let's just say that having more people in a region was better for fighting). This was the time when London was given it's nickname "Fortress London", a name it would hold long after V2 was gone.

As the eUK was conquered, London stood it's ground, never conquered. After time, attention passed from the eUK and there was a momentary peace. The conflict can be dubbed the "First Battle of Britain".

Part II:

Then in October of 2010, the eUSA and eCanada lashed forward again looking to finish what they had started months earlier. Thus began the "Second Battle of Britain". Once again as all of the eUK's regions fell, London held. There was two main battles of this conflict, the first was when eCanada took a stab at London, backed by nearly all of EDEN, with the eUK being backed by nearly all of PHOENIX. eUK came out victorious in the conflict. The victory was short lived though as the eUSA soon followed up on their eCanadian allies and the opposing alliances took their sides once again to fight it out, the eUK took their victory again.

As before, attention soon turned away from London and the battle of the world went elsewhere.

Part III:

Arguably, the most interesting of London's conflicts was the events that took place on September 17th of 2011, day 1397. War World IV was no more. The alliances remained, just not in their original forms. Things had changed, but the war was still there. Except now the conflict was World War V, TERRA and EDEN against ONE and ABC.

On the weeks leading up to that event, all of the eUK's regions were conquered by eCanada and eIreland, there had been assaults on London in the days before day 1397, but none of them were organised enough or had enough support to take London. Then on day 1397 all of the TERRA and EDEN countries dumped their support into eCanada's attack on London. It was easily seen that this would be the final battle of the campaign, everyone dumped everything into this battle. Emotions ran high and at the end of the day, one side's pride would be crushed. The battle raged on for hours, savings of gold and currency that had been built up for months (years in some cases) were wasted in a few hours. I don't even want to think of the amount of money eRepublik made that day.

Finally around 12:00 game time, it was over. eCanada finally had their victory and Fortress London was gone, for the first time in eRepublik history. Two days later London was reclaimed, but at that point it was no longer the prize it had been before.

Part IV:

Now we have come to the final part of our tale. It is now December of 2011, and the eUK is under attack. I do not actually have anything to say about this because I was not playing in the few days it took for these events to happen, but here is what I can tell you, the eUK regained it's regions but then came under attacks from eCanada and eFrance and the eUK was unable to defend itself against the attacks. In this, the eUK was wiped entirely. This was the first time the eUK had ever been wiped (if you're wondering who hasn't been wiped, Indonesia is the only country that still holds that title).

So thus we have been brought to our current situation, the eUK's occupation from eFrance and eCanada.

This has been the best account I can give about the conflicts surrounding the eUK up to this point, which could be dubbed the "Battles of Britain". I will admit some of the information in this article might be inaccurate, and I would be glad to correct it if would be pointed out.

Maybe I'll write an article about another series of events sometime? 😉
