If you can't read this entire article, just read this next line:
Don't fight after healing, you can only heal once a day and will lose your wellness

The first few days of any citizens life in erepublik can seem to be completely uneventful. Many(probably most) do not even make it past these first few days because of this. However, those that do hang around soon find a New World filled with almost endless possibilities. There are characters of all types. Rivalries between people, parties, nations and alliances. All kinds of different groups with all kinds of different stances and ideologies.

One of the first things you should do is register on the eUS Forum and visit our IRC channel (#eus-interior on rizon.net). If you do this, you will have massively increased your chances of success in whatever path you choose. The national forum is the center of Government amongst other things. Making yourself visible on the forum is a huge step in the right direction. The IRC is perhaps the heart and soul of erepublik. It is the main method of communication for all the important aspects of the game. You will soon find that IRC usage and success go hand in hand. Any questions you have about the game can usually be answered by experienced players on IRC and many of them would gladly mentor you in the workings of the game. Ask as many questions as you need to if you find a trustworthy mentor.

Get in touch with the USA Welcoming Committee for help and advice. Reading articles in the media will also keep you informed of events in the New World and a wealth of information can be found by visiting the wiki. This guide may seem a little over-whelming at first, but once you perform the basics, which are actually very simple, then the rest will fall into place as you learn the game.

Day 1

- Upload an Avatar. Gains you 2xp(experience points)
- Find your first job. Gains you 5xp
- Work. Gains you 1xp. Loses you Wellness. e.g. Q1 Job😕ose 1 Wellness
- Train. Gains you 2xp. Loses you 1 Wellness.
- Buy your first Food
- Join the eUS Forum
- Read articles in the media and use the wiki to learn about the game.

A couple of important points to note are-

Wellness:

Wellness is important. The maximum wellness each citizen can have is 100. Keeping your wellness high benefits 2 very important areas of your citizens life. Wellness levels affect the amount you produce when you work, and the amount of damage you can inflict when fighting in a battle. If you struggle with Wellness you should fill out the WellnessHelp form. Gifts are one way to restore Wellness. Please read this post for more information about wellness. Don't waste money on wellness packs. To learn how to manage your wellness, please read A Guide to Wellness Management

Your first Job:

Do not take a job in a company of higher level than Q1(1 star). In erepublik there are a range of products. Each type of product has 5 Quality levels. A Q1 company produces Q1 products. Each time you work in a Q1 company you will lose 1 Wellness. However, if for example you work in a Q5 Company you will lose 5 wellness each time you do so. New players should never work in any job other than Q1. If you have already made the mistake of taking a high Q job, then you will have to wait 3 days before you can quit unless you PM your boss and ask to be fired. As soon as the 3 days are up, quit and move to a Q1 job. Your job will pay you in USD (Dollars). You will not automatically get raises as your skills improve. Be a proactive worker and message your boss when you are paid less than want the job market shows.

Foo😛

Food
is the basic requirement of every citizen. Each day your citizen will automatically consume one unit of the highest quality food you have in your inventory. Your citizens Wellness increases every time you consume food. If you do not have food in your inventory your citizen will lose 4 Wellness each day. Always ensure you have food in your inventory each day. New players should try to buy Q2 food each day if possible.

Every day:

Working, Training and ensuring your citizen has food are the basics of every day life in erepublik. For the rest of your e-life they will be the essentials for your citizen and should be done everyday.

Each day that you Work, your Skill will increase. As your Skill increases, so will your daily Production. The type of Skill that you have depends on the type of company you work in. At present, there are 3 different types of Skills for 3 different Industries-

- Manufacturing (Food, Moving ticket, Gifts, Weapons)
- Land (Grain, Iron, Oil, Diamonds, Wood)
- Construction (House, Hospital, Defense system)

Every time you Work 30 Days in a row you will receive a Hard Worker Medal and a Treasure Map that will gain you a sum of Gold.

Each day that you Train, your Strength will increase. Strength is one of the factors that will affect the amount of damage you can do in each battle that you fight in. There are at present 4 types of Training that a citizen can do each day-

- Train for free for Standard training boost
- Train with Alexander the Great for 0.5 Gold and a +50% training boost
- Train with Caesar for 1 Gold and a +100% training boost
- Train with Napoleon for 2 Gold and a +200% training boost.

New players are advised to use the free Standard option each day. Even higher level players struggle to afford the advanced Training options. Every time you advance 5 Strength levels you will receive a Super Soldier Medal and a Treasure Map that will give you a sum of Gold.

Read this before Fighting

While you can fight at Level 3, it's very important that you not fight until you can move to a Hospital State (Karnataka, California or Florida). You need to be Level 4 to be able to move.

Day 2

- Buy Food.
- Work.
- Train.
- Fight. Gains you 2xp per Fight. Loses you 10 Wellness per Fight. Do not fight until you are in Karnataka, California or Florida. (The Hospital States)
- Heal. Your regions Hospital will allow you to heal.

Fighting:

Fighting is also a crucial part of your citizens progression. It plays a huge part in the amount of XP you receive as well as increasing your total Damage, which in turn determines your Military Rank. Before you fight, the first thing you should do is check what Q Hospital the region you live in has. Like everything else in erepublik, Q5(stars) is the highest. A Q5 Hospital will allow you to recover 50 Wellness lost in battle each day. A Q4 Hospital- 40 Wellness, etc. You will lose 10 Wellness each time you fight. So you should only fight the same number of times as the Q Level of your regions Hospital-

- No Hospital- Wait until you can move to a region with a Hospital
- Q1 Hospital- Fight once
- Q2 Hospital- Fight twice
- Q3 Hospital- Fight 3 Times
- Q4 Hospital- Fight 4 Times
- Q5 Hospital- Fight 5 Times

After you have Trained you can click on the "Battles you can fight in" option. This will bring up a list of battles that you can fight in if there are any at all for that given day. Alternatively, these battles will also show up under "Latest Events" on your erepublik home page. Click on the battle you want to fight in. Then just click on the "Fight" button. Remember to only fight the number of times outlined above.

Healing:

To Heal after you fight, click on "back to battlefield" then "Hospital". This will bring you to your regions Hospital. Then just click on "Heal" to recover Wellness. If for some reason you navigate away from the battlefield before accessing the Hospital, simply visit the page of the region you live in to find the Heal button.

Damage:

The amount of Damage you can inflict in battle is dependent on a number of factors-

- Quality of Weapon used
- Military Rank
- Strength
- Wellness

Weapons:

You do not need weapons to Fight. You can fight barehanded and still receive 2XP per fight. Each fight will use the highest quality weapon you have in your inventory. Weapons, like every other product have 5 Q Levels. The higher the quality of weapon you use, the higher the amount of Damage you can inflict in a fight-

- Barehanded= -50% Damage
- Quality 1= +20% Damage
- Quality 2= +40% Damage
- Quality 3= +60% Damage
- Quality 4= +80% Damage
- Quality 5= +100% Damage

New players will not be able to afford Weapons and are advised to Fight barehanded until they can afford them. However, if and when you are able to afford them, then you should only buy Q1 weapons. They are the most cost effective way of ranking up. The difference between fighting barehanded and fighting with a Q1 Weapon is huge. On the other hand, the difference between using a Q1 and Q2 weapon is not much when cost is taken into account. High Q weapons should only be used in major battles.

Military Rank:

There are 8 levels of Military Rank-

- Private
- Corporal
- Sergeant
- Lieutenant
- Captain
- Colonel
- General
- Field Marshal

The higher your rank, the more damage you can inflict. In turn, your rank is determined by the total damage that you have inflicted in your erepublik life.

Good Fighting Practice:

The US Department of Defense publishes daily orders for Civilians. Subscribe to this Newspaper. It will have the orders for where you should be fighting each day. Generally it is good practice to hold your fights until just before your last log out time for the day. A different battle could start where your damage could be more important so check the paper for updates every time you log in.

Level 4(15XP): Moving

When you reach Level 4(15XP) you will be able to Move. If you are not in a region with a Q5 Hospital (Currently Karnataka, California or Florida) you should move to one immediately. To do so you will need to purchase a Moving Ticket. If you cannot afford one, please fill out the NewCitizenHelp Form. To move you will need to click on "Change" under the "Location" on your profile page. Then select the country and region you want to move to. Please move to Karnataka, a High Iron region that we are renting from India. The only other states with hospitals are California and Florida.

Level 5(25XP): Invite Friends

At Level 5 you will be able to Invite people to the game using your Referral link. For each of the first 10 people that you invite that reaches Level 6 you will receive a Treasure Map that will give you a sum of Gold. When you have invited 10 people to the game who have reached Level 6 you will get a Society Builder Medal.

Level 6(35XP): Vote

At Level 6 you will have the ability to Vote when election time comes. Each time you vote you will gain 1XP. Inform yourself about the candidates before casting your vote, it can make a difference to your country. If you want to learn more about candiates, go to the Politics board.

Also, when a player reaches Level 6 they will receive a Treasure Map that will give them a sum of Gold. The Gold you receive at Level 6 should be used wisely. Common uses for this Gold are-

- Buy a House- Increases Wellness daily providing that you have Food in your inventory. The higher Q House the more your Wellness will increase.

- Start a Newspaper when you reach Level 8- Costs 2 Gold

- Exchange for currency on the Monetary Market. Some experienced players can make money by playing the Monetary Market. If you decide you want to try it then inform yourself fully about how it works

Level 7(40XP): Join a Party

At Level 7 you can Join a political party. This does not mean you should join one immediately. Learn whatever you can about each party and make an informed decision on which to join. Different parties suit different people. Through time, do not be surprised to find that you develop a loyalty to a particular party. Being in a party affects many areas of your citizens life and career.

Level 8(50XP): Create a Newspaper

As already mentioned, at Level 8 you will be able to Create a Newspaper. Having a Newspaper allows you to gain visibility in game. However, before you write your first article you should inform yourself on whatever it is you are going to write about. Ask an experienced friend to have a look at what you have written before you release it. New players often make the mistake of releasing an article without informing themselves. If you do that, some friendly citizens may point out your mistakes. However the most likely scenario will be that people will call you a complete idiot and tell you to go and learn the game before releasing articles. The ultimate goal of any good writer is the Media Mogul Medal which you will receive when you reach 1000 Subscribers. You will also receive a Treasure Map for this achievement.

Level 9(65XP): Create/Buy Company

At Level 9 you will be able to Create or Buy a Company. However, realistically you will not be doing this until much later in your erepublik life. Also, even when you can afford to start a company that does not mean you should. Before starting one you should learn and completely understand all the mechanics involved in running a company. Many players waste Gold on companies without being prepared. To fully explain how companies work it would take an article by itself and possibly even more. If you really are interested in starting a company then leave no stone uncovered before you start as well as seeking the advice of experienced players. Also, you need to wait until create an Organization to start a company. I f you own a company on your citizen account, you will be unable to work.

Level 11(90XP): Create Organisation

You will now be able to Create an Organisation(5 Gold). Organisations are used to hold companies and can also have their own Newspaper. They are also commonly used as Government Ministries or Official Party Orgs.

Level 12(100XP): Run for Congress

You will now be able to run for Congress in the elections. Again, do not just do it because you can. Being an active member in a party will help you. The party will officially support you if they feel you deserve it. Use your Newspaper to announce your intentions to run and release your manifesto. Again, be informed and do not do this until you are ready for it. Do not run unless you are active on both your national and party forums. Another point to note is that you can only get a congress seat if you are running in one of the Top 5 parties in the country you live in. You will receive a Congress Medal and a Treasure Map that will give you a sum of Gold for each time you win a Congress seat. You will also gain 20XP.

Level 13(125XP): Create Party/Run for Party President

Create a Party or Run for Party President. Again, just because you can does not mean you should. Creating a party costs 40 Gold and it could be wasted very easily unless you have a significant number of people starting the party with you. If you are starting a small party it can become an easy target for PTO(Political Take Over). This simply means that a group of people can put forward a Candidate for Party President and take control of the party.

Running for Party President costs 2 Gold. Unless you are a highly active member of the party then it is not advisable to do so. Firstly the role of Party President is a very demanding one. Managing Congress and Presidential elections are just 2 of the duties expected of a Party President. Secondly if you just put yourself forward without informing party leadership or having contributed largely to the party then members will let you know very quickly that they do not approve. Simply put, it is not a position that should be taken lightly. You will receive 20XP for winning Party President election.

Level 14(200XP): Run for President

At Level 14 you will be able to run for President of your country. If, when you reach Level 14, you believe you are ready to lead your nation then you need professional help and should quit playing the game immediately. You will receive a Country President Medal and a Treasure Map each time you win the Presidential elections. You also gain 50XP.

Level 15(300XP): Buy Wellness Packs

At Level 15 you will be able to buy 40 Wellness Packs per day at a cost of 2 Gold per pack. This is generally only used by high ranked players for "Tanking" allowing them to fight 40 extra times in battle and giving them a chance to win the Battle Hero Medal by inflicting the most damage of any player on either side of a single battle. Don't waste your money on wellness packs.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The good news is, that all you need to know is the basics and these only take 5-10 minutes per day. The bad news is that to achieve high goals you will have to put a lot of time in. The ugly news is that there is a whole new version of the game coming soon which will add many more factors to your citizens life including a completely new military module and a hugely enhanced economic module.
