A few swift points about WA

Day 712, 02:24 Published in Australia Australia by whitelaughter

Real life is raising its' head so this is in point form. Sorry.

HOSPITALS

Putting a hospital in WA - or NT, or QLD - is unwise at this point. In the event of an invasion, these are the regions that will be attacke😛 risking the destruction of the hospital in the first battle. South Australia and Tasmania though cannot be attacked unless other states have fallen, so are better sites for hospitals.

DEFENSE SYSTEMS
Defense systems normally go to the back of the queue for purchasing, as they aren't as cost effective as Hosptials or increasing the strength of soldiers. However, eAus has a very high proportion of zombies, making them more valauble as normal. WA is both highest priority and the best location (due to the high number of dead eIndonesian colonists).
Can we afford to run a defense system company? NO, we can't: we don't have the workforce. However, we do have multiple defense system company, including a Q5 in WA and a Q3 in NT.

I recommend letting other enations use the companies - for free. Why? Because while they do so, we get taxes from their workers; once they 'buy' the system, the company get a free export license. Any of the small neutral enations would be good choices to do this deal with.

ECONOMIC SPECIALISATION

Regaining WA has given us an additional 325 companies - when we don't have the workers to run our existing companies. eAus desperately needs to specialise! Our only High resources are Grain and Diamonds - rather than producing Iron and Wood, we should trade for them. Currently NINETY eAussies are working in Wood and Iron; shifting them over to Diamonds or Grain would double their producitvity and increase the efficiency of currently understaffed companies. I propose (and intend to run in the next congress elections on this platform) - we increase the taxes on Wood and Iron to 50% to euthanize the Wood and Iron industries, and provide workers for the Grain and Diamond industries.

and if you thought that was controversial....

EXCESS COMPANIES CAN BE OFFERED TO (PARA)MILITARY FORCES

With literally hundreds of empty companies in eAus, we have the option of offering them to other people's military units. Again, we would do this rent free, as the taxes alone more than justify the scheme.
What's in it for them? Bacially, these units would be able to move in and out of eAus at will, working here to increase their skills and aiming for Hard Worker medals - something professional soldiers find difficult due to the minimum 3 days before you can resign. With their commander in charge of the company, they will know that they'll be fired the moment they need to move.

Small scale, this means mercenary units - having the option to be fired whenever they need to move for a contract should tempt some forces. Large scale, this means EDEN: offering these companies to their elite units so that they can launch attacks into eSAfrica!

This would be a final revocation of any claim to neutrality of course, so I expect that many people will oppose this very strongly. Fair enough, but when arguing, consider the following points:

1) if eSAfrica is liberated, eIndonesia will have no local supplies of Diamonds, and will need to abandon their tariff barrier and start importing: and most of our companies have (currently useless) export licenses to eIndonesia.

2) eSAfrican companies would be able to buy cheap export licenses to eAustralia. While not normally useful, if their weapons companies had licenses they could export to us during military crises. Remember that when eAustralia first joined the war games, our weapons market was stripped completely bare! Having emergency suppliers would be prudent.

3) eSafrica doesn't have any Grain. eSAfricans who invested in eAus Grain companies could move to occupied regions, and sign up for their own companies - then after the Resistance Wars, they would be back in eSAfrica, where they can run for congress. This system provides us with workers and them with cheap Grain.

Now for this to work it requires i) eAustralian support, ii) EDEN's backing, & iii) eSAfrican support. So it is something for eAussies to argue about, and then (if in favour) make sure that eSAfrica wants this. Only then would we make the offer to EDEN.
