A Day to Remember/The WAM TAX-Part 2
stephen s
Hello my fellow eAmericans,
Today, Im reporting to you from the Congressional Chambers about a topic that will be affecting each and every one of us in the eUnited States. Because I wrote this today and published it tonight rather than tomorrow, I would like to take the time to remember those who lost their lives 12 years ago on September 11th before I get into the main topic of this article:
Thank you for showing your respect.
Now for this WAM tax, we all knew it would be back.
Here’s a little overview of what will be in our foreseeable future:
Now, some of you may be asking yourself: Why am I sharing some of the proposals going on in Congress with the public?
Here’s the answer: This proposal is under Public Congressional proceedings, which to my interpretation means that I can share it with you: the public.
Due to the war effort against Poland, we have been dealing with a lot of financial expenditures. Kind of like this one:
So what we will most likely be doing is raising the WAM tax back up to 25% for two weeks, and then lowering it to 15% afterwards. A lot of us, including myself, do not feel like 25% is the appropriate amount needed in order to gain funds needed to fight Poland and get them out of the country.
I wanted to show all of YOU, that I for one, am AGAINST such a steep tax increase:
Now, I may be wrong… It might not get enough approvals, if it gets 10 approvals, it might not get enough votes afterwards. However, what we do know is that last time this tax was in effect in our nation, it placed tremendous stress on our citizens and our privately funded Military units and militias. So, here is my request to YOU ‘murica: Please Vote this article, Please Shout this article, Please Sub this paper, and Please leave what percentage you think we should use in the comment section below.
Thank You,
Stephen S

Please also tell me how to get my screenshots into a nice [img][/img] link so that you guys dont have to deal with the tiny URLs.
o> i remember this incident when i was 6 and felt sad what happen that day and here to show respect this terror it should not happen but it happen and the world was struck and open the minds to many. Thus concludes that world would never be the same after this incident o>
Up to 15% and down to 10% would be more appropriate.
would be a political compromise leading to no results on the battlefield.
Don't tell me you have estimates how much we are going to spent for COs to get rid of Loland??!!
Stephen S. imageshack.us will allow you to direct-link images with the

Thanks Talostastic😃 I fixed everything so you guys should see the screenshots I took
if your screen shot is set into an html page, try right-click > open image in a New Tab, which will give you its real JPG URL.
our greatest enemies have or are in process of raising the WAM Tax.. if we match them in Tax % they'll still be raking in much more dough than us. we're forced to go high to maintain anything near battlefield $$ parity.

#shortcuts ftw
We need twenty five percent tax we need more co's
Nice article.
INSURGIO~
A 25% tax is a bad idea.
Our enemies have a much bigger tax base than we do. We can tax ourselves to death, and still not match Poland's spending power. This is a short sighted mistake.
Thats a good way of putting it! Also, I would never 100% trust a government that any amount of money taken from me would be well spent. Im not rich or stashing cc/gold. I produce and receive supplies just about enough to fight(though even that is questionable) so paying high taxes, something ironic given the rl US view on taxation, is rather detrimental.
thanks stephen for the information this is an unpresidented tax increase and it is unfair to the eAmerican citizens and the privately funded MU we need all the men we need and this discouraging the citizens of our nations and thus might cause problems to our economy many citizens are leaving eUSA because of this a calculation of 80% of MUs of getting underfunded and also may discourage new players. Also i am deeply sadden of whats happen pls read this article to understand about this war http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/the-war-has-been-taken-into-our-soil-again-and-victory-was-short-lived-why--2316997/1/20 to be true we are losing this war and this new tax contribute to our defeat.I understand government is under pressure why can the government be more transparent and tells us the true situation and get us more involved in the decision making process or set up a new parliament like blog for the citizen to hold govermental position thus will get the citizens involved and a saperate parliment blog for congress members. It will be like congress and senate in RL this is just an idea any stephen pls stop this crazy taxing policy and pls tell congress that the citizen have a say in this.Any stephen i would to thank you for the support you have given me i am just busy since school has started.
Is there any data on the total tax collection change was when the work tax went from 25% to 5%? I would also be interested in what percentage of the tax at 25% went to refund work tax expenses at government communes.
Im actually not quite sure if Im allowed to disclose that information because it could inform our enemies how much money we are bringing in... Sorry.
Its mentioned in the Public Congressional Forum. Go read it and find out.
5% work tax should give more income than 25% income tax. If a person works a job and 4 companies, it would be the same on average. New players start with 3 companies, only need to buy one more raw and they are paying as much as the 25% income. Most people own a LOT of companies. I know there is less usage of companies with work tax and I know it changes wages.
But at 25% work tax, companies become unprofitable. Already with 5% q1-q3 food factories lose money. You might end up making less money overall from the stop of WAMing of more companies and hurting people too by profit loss and not being able to produce to make income.
If you need more money, take it from the reserves. That is what the reserves are for.
Thats what we have been discussing which is why I wanted the public to know.
My Q7 weapons company became consistently profitable for over a week when the Work Tax was introduced and we were stuck at 25%. Before the work tax, EVERY company was unprofitable to employ people.
WAM'ing smaller Q companies have taken a huge blow on profit, but the higher quality ones still turn a profit when sold.
We've already battered the hell out of the reserves, and those don't replenish at any sort of noticeable rate. Once those are gone, they're gone, and we've already slaughtered them to get 2 of the 3 major invaders out.
99% ftw
if they raise that tax to 25% probably be time for me to go to where its not 25%. I get to pay so you folks can have tanks. Which i cant afford at 25%. SO i guess you are choosing between your players and cc's. Stupid.
Are you a member of a military unit?? Join the ultramarines, and youll get 21 Q7s a day and food if you need it if you commune for them... thats what I do... "I guess you are choosing between your players and ccd"----I am NOT choosing between them and CCs lol... if you saw the screenshots, youd see that I disapproved of the movement to carry this to voting, and if youd like, Id take a screenshot of me voting NO to the proposal for exactly that reason... we will lose too many citizens if we keep doing this to them and its wrong.
Sorry mate i didn't mean you. I know you are against it and i am glad. I am just a bit upset. Sorry again. I don't want or need to join a MU. i am self sufficient. I can drop about 2 mil damage everyday without help. It appears this country does not need people like me.
We do Waysted... now more then ever.... Im pushing to Amend it to 15% rather than 25%.... we need an increase regardless because of our spending to fight poland... our last major cost was to kick Serbia out and we need more money to finish this out... I just dont think 25% will solve the issue....
15% i can live with. For awhile 🙂
I don't think we need the tax increase to help fight Poland. We're doing better. We've recovered Louisiana, and I hope we can get back Tennessee and keep Alabama. 15 percent sounds good.
Any increase in the tax rate would be absurd at this juncture given the ongoing competition already wreaking havoc within the marketplace.
In our efforts against Poland the most important goal is to increase our mpp stack as we have begun to do over the past couple of days.
5% is more than enough given WaM is also taxed though given Kemal's recent announcement of the gross miscalculation the tax rates should be lowered to 1% in order to prevent wealth erosion due to the sieve issue in relation to the national account.
Any eSenator attempting to raise taxes should be silenced immediately and not be permitted to run for senate again this year.
A little extreme, but sound arguments... Everyone is permitted to have their opinion in congress which is what makes this country great... However, we do in fact need money... I just know that 25% is WAY too much.... I agree on needing an increase and I support 15% for two weeks, then dropped to 10% for two weeks and then back to normal at 5%.

Anything above 5% is too much, by going above this figure again I personally would not be doing any WAM.
If we raised sufficient funds to give ePoland a run, with their citizen base they would just retaliate heavily as they would have a bigger budget than we could accumulate in a short period of time
I don't think we should set a "percentage" (although that is what the game requires us to do). Instead we should establish an income goal and have congress adjust the percentage accordingly to accommodate that income goal.
Because the work tax is figured from an average daily wage, it will be subject to change, as the daily wage fluctuates. For this reason, a set percentage is not a good policy.
Instead, congress can determine what income is required to fulfill the budget obligations, then adjust the tax (perhaps weekly) to assure that the budget is being met.
