I have at this moment, two documents under construction. They go two very different ways. In a few hours or so, I'll decide which one I'll publish.
Until then, I want to make some clarifications:
First, in the event of my victory tonight, inactivity is out. Regardless of what many would have you believe, I have absolutely no intention of letting Serbs, Turks, Hungarians, etc., etc., run for Congress. I plan to ignore the FEC though, because it's obviously partisan. My earlier announcement which has been widely cited is now false. I'll go back and edit it for you all.
Second, this all could have been avoided if we'd just sat back and said nothing. I would have lost by a large margin to Iasov today; after neither of us campaigned, and everything would be right with the world.
Should I stay or should I go? Your choice.

You're not going to prove much. You'll only push the politicos into being more territorial and protective. You'll be gone after a month and another PP will be elected that follows the FEC, etc.

You've proven that no one likes the power elite that controls our parties, or at least they don't like the idea of having a power elite control the party.
What you haven't proven is that you can find a better system. All you've said is that you won't follow the old one. That's doesn't inspire confidence.
All the people voting their misguided anger for you, are they going to step-up and do any work? I think not. Are you going to spend your time hand-selecting each Congress Candidate and insuring they are safe to run? I doubt it. You were two seconds away from quitting.
The truth that most of us realize, is running a political party is thankless and cumbersome work. If you want to take that away from them, better do a better job.
Anyways if you do win, run me for Congress in MD.

Actually, I am gonna find and select candidates for Congress if I win. But they'll have to work for it.

P.S. It's usually the PPs that have to work to find candidates/blockers. If you think otherwise, I don't know maybe you aren't paying attention.

You know what could have been avoided? If you had this mindset 2 days ago instead of threatening the party and saying you would quit regardless if you won or not.
It's sad because I wouldn't have touched the election if you had written something like this initially instead of writing it the day of elections when you are already winning. If you think everyone is naive enough to just take your word for it, you're wrong. Though, apparently some people are.
This could have all been avoided if you didn't rush into this acting like an ass and it could have been a fair run of the mill election. You have no one to blame for all this drama except yourself.

Actually, new players who want to be active in eRepublik are more than willing to sign up under the Political Party page as Congressional Candidates. But then they find out they can't do that as they need to go to some GDoc to get approval first. And then the approval may not be forthcoming even if the perspective Candidate isn't a PTOer. Iasov asks how things can be less restrictive. Let people sign up through the Political Party page as the Admins intended. Then let somebody who chooses to do so, track on that GDoc who is declaring their candidacy for Congress and where. Then Blockers can be found for those states that have yet to be filled. It seems to me that the Top 5 parties would rather have a Blocker run in certain states to guarantee another party's candidate will win than have a newb who wants to be active in the game run as a legitimate candidate. I guess we need to have an FTC to protect us from this variation of collusion and price fixing. =^P
Just win Sam, then use your best judgement running things.
